Introduction: This study evaluated the efficacy of radiomic analysis with optimal volumes of interest (VOIs) on computed tomography images to preoperatively differentiate invasive mucinous adenocarcinoma (IMA) from non-mucinous adenocarcinoma (non-IMA) in patients with incidental pulmonary nodules (IPNs).

Structured illumination-based super-resolution Förster resonance energy transfer microscopy (SISR-FRETM) has facilitated better observation of molecular behavior in living cells. However, SIM tends to produce artifacts in reconstruction, especially when the raw SIM inputs are of low signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) or out-of-focus, leading to erroneous signals in subsequent FRET. Current SIM quality evaluation metrics fail to utilize both SNR and out-of-focus features, making it challenging to classify unqualified raw data for FRET.

A multi-wavelength mode-locked fiber laser can generate different wavelengths from a single laser cavity, offering potential as a dual-frequency comb and serving as an ideal light source for terahertz wave generation. We present an optimized hybrid mode-locked Er-doped fiber laser with flexible outputs: switchable and tunable dual-wavelength mode-locking, along with stable tri-wavelength mode-locking, which is achieved by introducing 0.69 m polarization-maintaining fiber and bent 200 m single-mode fiber to enhance intra-cavity birefringence and nonlinear effect to optimize the hybrid mode-locking effect, that is, build the composite filter effect.

A three-component cascade reaction involving cyclohexanones, anilines, and diaryl diselenides under metal-free conditions is reported. The ortho-selenation of cyclohexanones with diaryl diselenides, followed by sequential dehydroaromatization with anilines, enables the preparation of a variety of -selanyl anilines in moderate to excellent yields. This innovative transformation is notable for its excellent tolerance of functional groups and is suitable for the late-stage modification of complex pharmaceuticals.

The transformation induced plasticity phenomenon occurs when one phase transforms to another one during plastic deformation, which is usually diffusionless. Here we present elemental partitioning-mediated crystalline-to-amorphous phase transformation during quasi-static plastic deformation, in an alloy in form of a Cr-Ni-Co (crystalline)/Zr-Ti-Nb-Hf-Ni-Co (amorphous) nanolaminated composite, where the constitute elements of the two phases have large negative mixing enthalpy. Upon plastic deformation, atomic intermixing occurs between adjacent amorphous and crystalline phases due to extensive rearrangement of atoms at the interfaces.
