The unique structure and strong interaction of multiphase hybrid materials have garnered significant attention as prospective candidates for electrode materials in the realm of energy storage. The present study presents a rational design of a functional NiSe-CoSe/N, B double-doped carbon hybrid composite (NCS/C), resulting in the emergence of various novel cooperative regulatory mechanisms involving: (i) the heterogeneous structure of NiSe and CoSe generates built-in electric fields to increase electron mobility; (ii) the incorporation of polyatomic double-doped carbon (N, and B) expedites electron transfer rate; intriguingly, (iii) ionic liquids not only serve as polyatomic dopants in the reaction system but also influence the microstructure of the composite. Benefiting from these synergistic effects, the NCS/C hybrid exhibits remarkable charge storage capacity and rapid electrochemical kinetics, driven by its multi-fold hollow structure and multicomponent cooperative modulation.

Pioneer transcription factors (PTFs) possess the unique capability to access closed chromatin regions and initiate cell fate changes, yet the underlying mechanisms remain elusive. Here, we characterized the single-molecule dynamics of PTFs targeting chromatin in living cells, revealing a notable 'confined target search' mechanism. PTFs such as FOXA1, FOXA2, SOX2, OCT4 and KLF4 sampled chromatin more frequently than non-PTF MYC, alternating between fast free diffusion in the nucleus and slower confined diffusion within mesoscale zones.

We investigate the thermodynamics of general nonequilibrium processes stopped at stochastic times. We propose a systematic strategy for constructing fluctuation-theorem-like martingales for each thermodynamic functional, yielding a family of stopping-time fluctuation theorems. We derive second-law-like thermodynamic inequalities for the mean thermodynamic functional at stochastic stopping times, the bounds of which are even stronger than the thermodynamic inequalities resulting from the traditional fluctuation theorems when the stopping time is reduced to a deterministic one.

Recently, the discovery of optical spatiotemporal (ST) vortex beams with transverse orbital angular momentum (OAM) has attracted increasing attention and is expected to extend the research scope and open new opportunities for practical applications of OAM states. The ST vortex beams are also applicable to other physical fields that involve wave phenomena, and here we develop the ST vortex concept in the field of acoustics and report the generation of Bessel-type ST acoustic vortex beams. Cotton stalks (CS) are a potential agricultural biomass resource. We investigated the use of CS as a feed for Lewis larvae and the resulting frass (larvae dung-sand) as a fertilizer. Based on a three-factor experiment (decomposition inoculant, fermentation duration, and cattle manure ratio), the optimal parameters for the transformation of CS using larvae were determined as 40-50% of cattle manure, the use of VT inoculant and a fermentation duration of 25-30 days.
