- Researchers used methyl-β-cyclodextrin (MβCD) to extract cholesterol, leading to significant cytotoxicity and reduced adhesion and invasion abilities in TNBC cells, specifically MDA-MB 231 and MDA-MB 468.
- MβCD treatment also resulted in cell cycle arrest and increased apoptosis in TNBC cells, alongside decreased neovessel formation and depletion of certain signaling receptors involved in angiogenesis.
