Introduction: Over the past ten years, laparoscopic surgery in the treatment of morbid obesity has expanded. However, there are few publications describing its side effects, notably the occurrence of gastric necrosis.

Observation: Two years after laparoscopic-banding for morbid obesity, a case of acute gastroenteritis in a 45 Year-old woman proved to be a gastric necrosis.

Polycystic liver disease, which is generally part of the autosomal dominant polycystic kidney disease, is often asymptomatic. We report a case of obstructive jaundice caused by compression of the biliary tract by a large haemorrhagic liver cyst. The patient was a man with sporadic polycystic liver disease without polycystic kidney disease and with normal renal function for his age.

Purpose: To investigate whether a correlation exists between aortic and renal arterial calcifications detected with spiral CT and significant angiographic renal artery stenosis (RAS).

Methods: Forty-two patients (mean age 67 years, range 37-84 years), of whom 24 were hypertensive, prospectively underwent abdominal helical CT and aortic and renal arteriography. The 3-mm thickness CT scans (pitch = 1) were reconstructed each millimeter.
