Lead chalcogenide colloidal quantum dots are one of the most promising materials to revolutionize the field of short-wavelength infrared optoelectronics due to their bandgap tunability and strong absorption. By self-assembling these quantum dots into ordered superlattices, mobilities approaching those of the bulk counterparts can be achieved while still retaining their original optical properties. The recent literature focused mostly on PbSe-based superlattices, but PbS quantum dots have several advantages, including higher stability.

Understanding the growth modes of 2D transition-metal oxides through direct observation is of vital importance to tailor these materials to desired structures. Here, we demonstrate thermolysis-driven growth of 2D VO nanostructures via transmission electron microscopy (TEM). Various growth stages in the formation of 2D VO nanostructures through thermal decomposition of a single solid-state NHVO precursor are unveiled during the TEM heating.

An understanding of the structural and compositional stability of nanomaterials is significant from both fundamental and technological points of view. Here, we investigate the thermal stability of half-unit-cell thick two-dimensional (2D) CoSe nanosheets that are exceptionally interesting because of their half-metallic ferromagnetic properties. By employing heating in the transmission electron microscope (TEM), we find that the nanosheets show good structural and chemical stability without changes to the cubic crystal structure until sublimation of the nanosheets starts at temperatures between 460 and 520 °C.

Lead halide perovskite nanocrystals are highly attractive for next-generation optoelectronics because they are easy to synthesize and offer great compositional and morphological tunability. However, the replacement of lead by tin for sustainability reasons is hampered by the unstable nature of Sn oxidation state and by an insufficient understanding of the chemical processes involved in the synthesis. Here, an optimized synthetic route is demonstrated to obtain stable, tunable, and monodisperse CsSnI nanocrystals, exhibiting well-defined excitonic peaks.

The rice blast caused by the fungus is one of the most devastating diseases of rice and can lead to complete failure of the crop under severe cases. The first step in breeding for blast resistance in rice is therefore to identify the novel sources of resistance and cataloguing different blast resistant genes in these genotypes. In the present study, a set of 37 rice genotypes comprising of landraces, advanced breeding lines and released varieties were first characterized for blast resistance under epiphytotic conditions and subsequently different blast resistant genes were catalogued with the help of markers tightly linked to these genes.

Aim: Diagnosis of velogenic viscerotropic Ranikhet disease from six different flocks of desi chicken in and around Mumbai by gross and histopathological examination, isolation of virus and molecular methods.

Materials And Methods: A total of 25 carcasses (varying between 2 and 6 carcasses from each flock) of six different flocks of adult desi chicken were subjected to necropsy examination for diagnosis of the disease during the span of a year (2014-2015). Ultrasound is a powerful, low-cost, non-invasive medical tool used by laboratory animal veterinarians for diagnostic imaging. Sonohysterography and transvaginal ultrasound are frequently used to assess uterine anomalies in women presenting with abnormal uterine bleeding (AUB).
