Kikuchi Fujimoto Disease, originally discovered in 1972, is a rare lymphoproliferative disorder traditionally characterized by cervical lymphadenopathy, fevers, parotid gland enlargement, and several other nonspecific manifestations. Differentials include lymphoma, other viral diseases such as Epstein-Bar Virus, as well as other autoimmune conditions such as Systemic Lupus Erythematosus. Central nervous system involvement is exceptionally rare, with manifestations including meningitis as well as subdural effusions, as presented in this case.

Percutaneous transcatheter tricuspid balloon valvuloplasty (PTTBV) is an accepted treatment option for symptomatic severe native tricuspid valve stenosis, although surgical tricuspid valve replacement remains the treatment of choice. View Article and Find Full Text PDFA 47-year-old man with history of familial cardiomyopathy and orthotopic heart transplant at the age of 34 years presented severe tricuspid stenosis (TS) with a mean transvalvular gradient of 10 mm Hg. The patient opted against tricuspid valve replacement and was offered percutaneous transcatheter tricuspid balloon valvuloplasty (PTTBV). To the best of our knowledge, this is the first report of a PTTBV in an orthotopic allograft, and demonstrates excellent clinical outcome at 1 year.

Bronchoalveolar lavage fluid (BALF) contains proteins derived from various pulmonary cell types, secretions and blood. As the characterization of the BALF proteome will be instrumental in establishing potential biomarkers of pathophysiology in the lungs, the objective of this study was to contribute to the comprehensive collection of Mus musculus BALF proteins using high resolution and highly sensitive micro-capillary liquid chromatography (microLC) combined with state-of-the-art high resolution mass spectrometry (MS).
