Introduction: Underwater endoscopic mucosal resection (uEMR) represents an alternative to conventional EMR for resection of sessile colorectal polyps. We aimed at assessing the efficacy and safety of uEMR for sessile colorectal polyps.

Methods: A retrospective analysis of endoscopy database was done for patients who underwent uEMR for sessile colorectal polyps more than 10 mm in size without any features of sub-mucosal invasion from two tertiary care centres in western India between January 2021 and June 2023.

Background: Submucosal tunneling diverticular septotomy by diverticular peroral endoscopic myotomy (D-POEM) has emerged as an alternative to surgery for symptomatic esophageal diverticula, but its medium to long-term outcomes are currently unexplored.

Methods: D-POEM for patients with symptomatic esophageal diverticula was prospectively studied to assess its safety and the 12-month outcomes.

Results: 25 patients (72 % male; median age 61 years [range 48 - 88]) with a Zenker's diverticulum (n = 20) or epiphrenic diverticulum (n = 5) were included.

Background And Aim:  There is paucity of data about endoscopic pancreatic sphincteroplasty (EPS) after endoscopic pancreatic sphincterotomy (EPST) in the treatment of chronic pancreatitis. The aim of this study was to establish the indications for EPS, complications related to it, and to examine its effectiveness in managing chronic pancreatitis after a year of follow-up.

Methods:  We evaluated the safety and efficacy of pancreatic balloon dilation coupled with sphincterotomy for the treatment of chronic pancreatitis.

Article Synopsis
  • EUS guided drainage of symptomatic pancreatic walled-off necrosis (WON) using fully covered self-expanding metal stents (FCSEMS) shows high effectiveness and safety, with a technical success rate of 100% and clinical success of 90.6%.
  • The study involved 64 patients and focused on achieving complete drainage, employing techniques such as lavage and necrosectomy when necessary.
  • While most patients experienced successful outcomes, a small number faced major adverse events, including life-threatening bleeding, indicating some risks are associated with the procedure.
