Introduction: The development of new and changing melanocytic lesions has been increasingly reported as an adverse dermatologic toxicity of BRAF inhibitor therapy. Melanocytic lesions and melanomas induced by BRAF inhibitor therapy that lack V600E expression have been less commonly described. One mechanism that has been proposed for the development of BRAF inhibitor-induced melanocytic lesions, including those lacking V600E expression, is the paradoxical activation of the MAPK signaling pathway in wild-type () cells.

The effect of a preparation containing glycocholic acid on the biocidal efficacy of sodium hypochlorite in a biofilm laboratory model.

This study assessed the antimicrobial effect of sodium hypochlorite (NaOCl) mixtures combined with Keratobacter (KB) using an engineered biofilm root canal model. Clinical and reagent grade NaOCl were mixed with KB (9:1-vol/vol) to assess pH values over 1 min to select the ideal solution with a pH just below the pKa of hypochlorous acid. The samples were randomly divided into five groups: 1% and 4% NaOCl reagents, a mixture of NaOCl:KB using 1% and 4% NaOCl reagents and distilled water.

Background: The Vakinankaratra region of Madagascar has a high burden of child undernutrition which, in addition to poor psychosocial stimulation, is a strong risk factor of poor child development. However, there are limited studies evaluating the relations between developmental deficits, child nutrition outcomes, and home stimulation in the region. The purpose of this study was to assess the development of children aged 11-13 months in relation to their nutritional status and to examine parental home stimulation attitudes and practices in the Vakinankaratra region.

Condyloma latum of the plantar foot: Case report of an unusual manifestation of secondary syphilis.

Condyloma lata, a cutaneous manifestation of secondary syphilis, typically presents as verrucous papules or plaques in the anogenital area. Here, we present a case of secondary syphilis presenting in a 38-year-old man as condyloma latum of the plantar foot in the absence of other cutaneous findings of secondary syphilis. The plantar foot is an unusual location for condyloma lata which has not previously been reported in the medical literature.

Methods: Knowledge was assessed using WHO recommendations on child feeding, and WHO infant and young child feeding (IYCF) indicators were used to evaluate feeding practices.

Treatment of eosinophilic dermatosis of hematologic malignancy (EDHM) has been challenging with a minimal response to several modalities. Only systemic corticosteroids have consistently proven successful in suppressing the rash; however, the response is often only partial, and symptoms tend to recur as the dosage is tapered. This demonstrates the need for effective maintenance therapy.

Background: Abrupt loss of ventricular preexcitation on noninvasive evaluation, or nonpersistent preexcitation, in Wolff-Parkinson-White syndrome (WPW) is thought to indicate a low risk of life-threatening events.

Objective: The purpose of this study was to compare accessory pathway (AP) characteristics and occurrences of sudden cardiac arrest (SCA) and rapidly conducted preexcited atrial fibrillation (RC-AF) in patients with nonpersistent and persistent preexcitation.

Methods: Patients 21 years or younger with WPW and invasive electrophysiology study (EPS) data, SCA, or RC-AF were identified from multicenter databases.

Rare Case Report of Pilomatrical Carcinosarcoma in a Pediatric Patient.

We present a case report of the exceptionally rare pilomatrical carcinosarcoma in an even rarer pediatric age group, a 9-year-old female patient. The tumor showed biphasic pilomatrical carcinoma and malignant sarcomatous transformation. To date, the patient is healing well without signs of recurrence.

Objectives: To examine physical activity (PA) levels, and how sociocultural factors, acculturation, self-efficacy and religion influence PA levels of Arab Muslim mothers of young children living in the United States.

Participants And Setting: Arab Muslim mothers of young children (aged <5 years) living in the United States (N=447).

Variables Measured: PA levels, sociocultural and religious barriers to PA, self-efficacy, strength of religious faith, and acculturation.
