This paper presents scientific investigations into the materiality and aging behavior of a copy of Dieter Roth's multiple (1968), mainly made of p-PVC components and minced meat, with the aim of informing conservation-restoration strategies. The main issues were represented by plasticizer migration, fat diffusion, and leakage, which led to the formation of a sticky surface layer. Replicas of p-PVC without minced meat were prepared and artificially thermally aged, while several techniques were used to investigate both the artwork and the replicas in terms of materials and degradation state.

Background: In the case of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), underlying liver pathology may not only determine the feasibility of surgery but may also affect the postsurgical outcome. We report our experience after curative liver resection for HCC in patients with normal liver, liver fibrosis, and liver cirrhosis.
Methods: A total of 72 patients after liver resection with curative intention were analyzed.
Background: Metastasis formation is the leading cause of death among colon cancer patients. We established a new in-situ model of in vivo microscopy of the lung to analyse initiating events of metastatic tumor cell adhesion within this typical metastatic target of colon cancer.
Methods: Anaesthetized CD rats were mechanically ventilated and 106 human HT-29LMM and T84 colon cancer cells were injected intracardially as single cell suspensions.

In this study, we differentiated the contribution of mechanical cell arrest, determined as lumen occlusion of liver sinusoids by tumor cells, and specific cell adhesion mediated by integrins for the arrest of human colon cancer cells in rat livers.
Materials And Methods: Using in vivo microscopy, the diameters of liver sinusoids of two different rat strains (CD, 250-300 g and RNU, 80-120 g) were determined.
Background: A safety margin of > or =10 mm is generally accepted in surgery for colorectal metastases. It is reasonable that modern methods of liver parenchyma dissection may allow for a reduction in this distance.
Methods: A total of 333 patients were included in a multicenter trial after resection of colorectal liver metastases.
