The prognostication method for the hemorrhage recurrence, permitting to estimate the risk of its occurrence and to prescribe an adequate antirecurrence treatment, was proposed. Among numerous predictors of recurrence the most significant clinical, endoscopic and laboratory factors were selected to raise the prognostication precision. Depending on therisk degree of a recurrent hemorrhage, different methods of treatment were prescribed to the patients.

The efficacy of multimodality conservative treatment for prostate and bladder cancer and cervical carcinoma was improved due to integration of such modem modalities as intra-arterial chemotherapy, local hyperthermia and hyperglycemia and combination of local and systemic radiomodifiers. Our methods use criteria of actual survival and are intended to raise it.

Cyclooxygenase and particularly COX-2 expression impaired survival in patients operated on for endometrial adenocarcinoma of the uterus: 5-year overall and relapse-free survival in absence of expression was 92% and 88%, respectively, while in cases of distinct expression, it fell down to 52% and 48%, respectively (p = 0.0004; 0.0005).

Twenty seven cases with the combination of epilepsy and menopause are presented. The menopause proved to be a critical period for epilepsy manifestation: in 44.4% women with epilepsy the disease onset was observed at the peri- and post-menopause period.

Out of 80 patients with squamous cell cervical carcinoma (stage II-III), p53 expression was observed in 30% of tumors prior to treatment and 49% in the course of radiotherapy. A correlation between degree of p53 expression before treatment, on the one hand, and overall and recurrence-free survival, on the other, was identified: high expression of mutated gene-suppressor p53 was 53% while for absence or low expression, it rose to 67% (p=0.03).

Chemical modification of progesterone molecule leads to changes both in the gestagenic activity of new derivatives and in their specific binding with progesterone receptors. The passage from esters (acetomepregenole, butagest) to the corresponding OH-forms such as 17a-acetoxy-3b-hydroxy-6-methyl-pregna-4,6-dien-20-one (ABMP)is accompanied by an increase in the binding with progesterone receptors in vitro. The translocation of a double bond from endocyclic (N6-N7) to exocyclic position (methylene group at N6 in ABMP) has no significant effect on the ability to binding with progesterone receptors.

The object of this work was to study the physico-chemical and biological properties of DNAs of the biodegradation plasmids NAH and SAL. A comparative analysis of the physico-chemical parameters for these DNAs made it possible to detect a number of identical properties in them: the same sedimentation profile for covalently-closed circular DNA forms, 68--70 S; the molecular weight of ca. 50 MD; a roughly equal number of fragments (up to 23) was found when the DNAs of NAH and SAL were restricted by EcoRI endonuclease.
