Although several pesticide detection methods are available for honey, limited work has been conducted to adapt these methods for pollen. Across vertebrates, M differentiation and functionality depend on activation of the colony stimulating factor-1 (CSF1) receptor by CSF1 and interluekin-34 (IL34) cytokines. Our findings to date indicate that amphibian () Ms differentiated with CSF1 and IL34 are morphologically, transcriptionally and functionally distinct.

Obesity in Adults: A 2022 Adapted Clinical Practice Guideline for Ireland.

Background: This Clinical Practice Guideline (CPG) for the management of obesity in adults in Ireland, adapted from the Canadian CPG, defines obesity as a complex chronic disease characterised by excess or dysfunctional adiposity that impairs health. The guideline reflects substantial advances in the understanding of the determinants, pathophysiology, assessment, and treatment of obesity.

Summary: It shifts the focus of obesity management toward improving patient-centred health outcomes, functional outcomes, and social and economic participation, rather than weight loss alone.

Novel Cast-saw Alarm System Reduces Blade-to-Skin Contact in a Pediatric Upper Extremity Model.

Purpose: To determine the effectiveness of a novel cast-saw alarm system in minimizing the number and duration of cast-saw blade-to-skin contacts.

Methods: Twenty orthopaedic residents removed a pair of long-arm casts applied to instrumented pediatric upper extremity models. The model and cast-saw were instrumented to detect blade to "skin" contact at a rate of 600 Hz.

Rapid Telehealth Implementation during the COVID-19 Global Pandemic: A Rapid Review.

The implementation and continued expansion of telehealth services assists a variety of health care organizations in the delivery of care during the current COVID-19 global pandemic. However, limited research has been conducted on recent, rapid telehealth implementation and expansion initiatives regarding facilitators and barriers surrounding the provision of quality patient care. Our rapid review evaluated the literature specific to rapid telehealth implementation during the current COVID-19 pandemic from three research databases between January 2020 and May 2020 and reported using preferred reporting items for systematic reviews and meta-analyses (PRISMA).

Technologic advances in the assessment and management of obstructive sleep apnoea beyond the apnoea-hypopnoea index: a narrative review.

Obstructive sleep apnoea (OSA) is a growing and serious worldwide health problem with significant health and socioeconomic consequences. Current diagnostic testing strategies are limited by cost, access to resources and over reliance on one measure, namely the apnoea-hypopnoea frequency per hour (AHI). Recent evidence supports moving away from the AHI as the principle measure of OSA severity towards a more personalised approach to OSA diagnosis and treatment that includes phenotypic and biological traits.

Discovery of IPN60090, a Clinical Stage Selective Glutaminase-1 (GLS-1) Inhibitor with Excellent Pharmacokinetic and Physicochemical Properties.

Inhibition of glutaminase-1 (GLS-1) hampers the proliferation of tumor cells reliant on glutamine. Known glutaminase inhibitors have potential limitations, and in vivo exposures are potentially limited due to poor physicochemical properties. We initiated a GLS-1 inhibitor discovery program focused on optimizing physicochemical and pharmacokinetic properties, and have developed a new selective inhibitor, compound (IPN60090), which is currently in phase 1 clinical trials.

Impact of obstructive sleep apnoea on cognitive function in multiple sclerosis: A longitudinal study.

Cognitive impairment (CI) and fatigue are common in people with multiple sclerosis (MS), with well-known profound effects on quality of life. Sleep disorders, including obstructive sleep apnoea (OSA), are also common in MS patients. The presence of CI has previously been shown to strongly correlate with OSA diagnosed using polysomnography in MS.

With the increasing demand on pesticide residue laboratories to increase their scope of analysis, high-resolution accurate mass (HRAM) systems have found increasing popularity in this area. The systems have the advantage of much more reliable confirmation as high resolution increases the ability to distinguish between masses which are close together and the mass accuracy achieved limits the number of structural formulae. To date, much of the work involving these systems has revolved around developing screening methods and little has been done on use of these systems for quantitative methods.

The Pediatric Subjective Global Nutrition Assessment Classifies More Children With Cerebral Palsy as Malnourished Compared With Anthropometry.

Background: Nutrition assessment is multidimensional; however, much of the literature examining the nutritional status of children with cerebral palsy (CP) focuses on a single dimension.

Objective: The aim of the study was to evaluate nutritional status in children and adolescents with CP by comparing results from the Pediatric Subjective Global Nutrition Assessment (SGNA) with results from traditional anthropometric measures.

Design: This study was a cross-sectional observational study.

Bypassing ubiquitination enables LAT recycling to the cell surface and enhanced signaling in T cells.

LAT molecules defective in ubiquitination have an increased half-life and induce enhanced signaling when expressed in T cells. In this study, we have examined the role of ubiquitination in regulating LAT endocytosis, recycling, and degradation in resting and stimulated T cells. By tracking and comparing plasma membrane-labeled wild type and ubiquitination-resistant 2KR LAT, we find that ubiquitination promotes the degradation of surface LAT in T cells.

Status Cataplecticus Following Abrupt Withdrawal of Clomipramine.

Presentation This is a case of a 31 year old gentleman who suffered an attack of status cataplecticus following abrupt withdrawal of clomipramine. Diagnosis Clomipramine was temporarily discontinued in order to confirm a suspected diagnosis of narcolepsy using Multiple Sleep Latency Testing. This precipitated an episode of status cataplecticus which resolved with re-introduction of therapy.

Obesity and sleep: a growing concern.

Purpose Of Review: The 'obesity epidemic' is a growing concern globally, and obesity trends are projected to continue increasing in both prevalence and overall mean BMI. Cardiovascular and metabolic comorbidities have historically been well described; however, obesity-related respiratory disease is now increasingly prevalent, in particular, sleep disordered breathing. The surge in clinically significant obstructive sleep apnoea and obesity hypoventilation syndrome is associated with increased cardiopulmonary morbidity, quality-of-life impairment, and a potential rise in the frequency of road traffic accidents.
