Talar revascularization after a complete talar extrusion.

We present a rare case of complete talar extrusion after trauma. Treatment of this severe injury remains controversial as a result of the lack of congruent evidence-based literature, associated high complication rate with primary repair, and difficulty in objectively assessing long-term outcomes. Recent small sampled retrospective studies and isolated case reports have documented success with immediate reimplantation of the talus through using various health status questionnaires and serial radiographs.

Primary osteomyelitis of the acetabulum resulting in septic arthritis of the hip and obturator internus abscess diagnosed as acute appendicitis.

The misdiagnosis of acute appendicitis is not uncommon. Rarely does infection of the triradiate cartilage imitate this entity. This case highlights an uncommon presentation of acetabular osteomyelitis as acute appendicitis and the severity of its sequelae.

Evaluation of computed tomography for determining the diagnosis of acetabular fractures.

Objective: We assessed whether, in contrast to reports in the literature, computed tomographic (CT) scans improve the ability to classify acetabular fractures in comparison with plain radiographs.

Percutaneous triplanar femoral osteotomy correction for developmental coxa vara: a new technique.

Developmental coxa vara (DCV) is a well-known pediatric hip disorder that is associated with triplanar deformity of the proximal femur. Several techniques of proximal femur osteotomies have being cited in the literature, with variable outcomes. Recently, the authors have used a percutaneous technique with application of a low-profile Ilizarov external fixator for acute opening wedge correction of the femoral deformity associated with DCV.
