: Cardiovascular diseases are one of the leading causes of morbidity and mortality worldwide. Health-related quality of life is crucial to assess the impact of cardiovascular diseases and to guide therapeutic strategies. The Short Form 36 Health Survey and the RAND 36-Item Health Survey questionnaires are common tools for measuring health-related quality of life in patients with cardiovascular disease, but their reliability may vary according to the population studied.

Background The thoracic ultrasound (TUS) is a monitoring tool that has gained worldwide popularity in various scenarios, offering the opportunity for dynamic, bedside evaluations. Recent studies indicate that the use of TUS enables the diagnosis of pathologies resulting from blunt chest trauma (BCT), yielding favorable outcomes. This study aimed to compare the utility of TUS versus chest radiography (CXR) in diagnosing pulmonary pathologies resulting from closed-chest traumas.

Perceptions of gender inequality may motivate people to take action against inequality given its negative impact on various domains of people's everyday lives. Thus, it is crucial to develop reliable measures that consider the multidimensional nature of gender inequalities. In this research, we propose and assess the psychometric properties of the Multidimensional Gender Inequality Perception Scale (MuGIPS).

Background Difficult laparoscopic cholecystectomy (DLC) denotes the surgical extraction of the gallbladder under circumstances where associated conditions within the same organ, adjacent structures, or patient-specific conditions impede a smooth, expeditious, and comfortable dissection. It is imperative to utilize tools that aid in anticipating this challenging surgical scenario, enabling the implementation of appropriate measures. Objective This study aimed to assess the effectiveness of the Labbad-Vivas score (LVS) in predicting DLC and its correlation with the Parkland Grading Scale (PGS).

Background: The aim of the present study was to analyse the effect of 12 weeks of training, 7 weeks of detraining and 16 weeks of retraining using a moderate or high intensity training programme on cardiovascular risk factors in hypertensive patients.

Method: Thirty-four patients took part in the study. The intensity training was 80-90% of maximum heart rate for the high-intensity training (HIT) group ( n  = 15) and at 50-70% of maximum heart rate for the moderate training (MT) group ( n  = 19).

There is mainly a lack of boron (B) in soils with low amounts of organic matter and in acidic and sandy soils. This is especially true in irrigated land or humid regions, where leaching can occur. The results from studying the amount of available B will reveal the status of B in the soil of a specific plot of land.

We compared the effect of two community-based physical activity (PA) programs on health-related quality of life (HRQL) and physical condition in people with cardiovascular risk factors. Fifty-one subjects participated in the "ACTIVA Murcia" AM program characterized by non-individualized training loads for 3 months, and forty-two participated in the AM program characterized by individualized progressive training loads for 6 months. Both programs included a 6-month follow-up period without PA.

An appropriate handling and use of urban and agricultural biosolids on soils are the best means to protect them from erosion, prevent the loss of nutrients due to runoff and washing, and preserve and restore soil productivity. Heavy metal concentrations in biosolids are one of the decisive factors when using this type of waste on soil, due to potentially being harmful to crops and reaching the human food chain. There is a clear need to study the incidence of these metals in agricultural practices in Mediterranean soils.

Introduction: Physical activity among children and adolescents remains insufficient, despite the substantial efforts made by researchers and policymakers. Identifying and furthering our understanding of potential modifiable determinants of physical activity behaviour (PAB) and sedentary behaviour (SB) is crucial for the development of interventions that promote a shift from SB to PAB. The current protocol details the process through which a series of systematic literature reviews and meta-analyses (MAs) will be conducted to produce a best-evidence statement (BESt) and inform policymakers.

Objective: Mice lacking the bHLH transcription factor (TF) Neurog3 do not form pancreatic islet cells, including insulin-secreting beta cells, the absence of which leads to diabetes. In humans, homozygous mutations of NEUROG3 manifest with neonatal or childhood diabetes. Despite this critical role in islet cell development, the precise function of and downstream genetic programs regulated directly by NEUROG3 remain elusive.

This article aims to examine the role of Belief in a Just World (BJW) in the legitimation of economic inequality. Using data from 27 European countries (=47,086), we conducted multilevel analyses and found that BJW positively predicted the legitimation of economic inequality, measured by three indicators: the perceived fairness of the overall wealth inequality, and the fairness of the earnings made by the Top 10% and the Bottom 10% of society. These results persisted after controlling for individual- and country-level variables.
