Sinonasal small cell carcinoma (SmCC) is a rare type of neoplasm. The current case report describes the case of a 30-year-old male patient with stage IV SmCC who underwent concurrent radiotherapy (RT) plus etoposide-cisplatin treatment. Positron emission tomography (PET)/computed tomography (CT) and fibroscopy examination showed complete remission at 3 months post-treatment.

COVID-19 is spread through aerosol making the emergent tracheostomy a high-risk procedure for surgeons. The surgical establishment of the air conduit in emergency scenarios must be adjusted for safety reasons.

Bell's palsy is the most common diagnosis associated with facial nerve weakness or paralysis. However, not all patients with facial paresis/paralysis have Bell's palsy. Other common causes include treatment of vestibular schwannoma, head and neck tumours, iatrogenic injuries, Herpes zoster, or trauma.

The prognosis for this type of carcinoma is poor, with a survival time typically not exceeding two years. We describe the case of a 54-year-old male patient with a primary tumor in the right ventricular band and a biopsy compatible with SCC.

The histopathological characteristics of PEH may lead to it being confused with well-differentiated squamous cell carcinoma (SCC). CASE REPORT We present here the case of a 57-year-old male patient, who was diabetic and a smoker, who presented with dysphonia.

The aim is to determine whether it is necessary to perform preliminary nasal anatomical variations surgery and to determine whether bilateral cases may be operated simultaneously. We extracted the patients undergoing simultaneous bilateral TCL DCR and we compared SR across the different groups using ANOVA, Chi-square testing and logistical regression.

The aim of this study is to determine the variables that can lead to a delayed diagnosis, especially the existence of false negatives and the lack of registration of risk factors.
Methods: A retrospective study of prevalence has been carried out, in which the medical records of children diagnosed with sensorineural hearing loss born within 2005 and 2012 in the health centers of study have been analyzed.

Introduction: Most authors agree that surgery is the treatment of choice for benign tumours of the parotid gland. However, the best surgical technique and the extent of surgery remain controversial. This study attempts to establish whether the implementation of a partial superficial parotidectomy (PSP) is appropriate for the treatment of benign parotid gland tumours.

Several surgical procedures have been proposed for the treatment of respiratory distress secondary to bilateral vocal cord paralysis. The aim of all surgical techniques used is to restore a glottic lumen sufficient to guarantee adequate breathing through the natural airway, without tracheotomy and preserving an acceptable phonatory quality. In this study we present our experience from 1998 to 2004 concerning the use of the diode contact laser for a modified Dennis-Kashima posterior endoscopic cordectomy (extended to the false homolateral chord in 3 cases and to the homolateral arytenoid vocal process in 6 cases).

Surgical treatment of the inferior turbinate in patients with chronic hypertrophic rhinitis that does not respond to medical treatment is a well established procedure. CO2 laser, YAG laser, KTP laser, conventional electrocautery, cryotherapy, chemosurgery and turbinectomy or submucosal turbinectomy have been performed for the removal of nasal obstruction. Argon Plasma Coagulation (APC) is a new, innovative technique in Otorhinolaryngology which is based on high-frequency electrocoagulation with an argon-gas source.

We feel that the efficacy of macrolides for chronic pharyngitis can be due to the anti-inflammatory effect of this group of antibiotics. However, we think that at present the use of macrolides is not the therapy of choice for chronic pharyngitis.

We have not found in the literature an explanation for the intermittent and transient decreased lesser hearing sensation in patients with dysesthesia of the external auditory canal (EAC). In this paper we offer a possible explanation for it. Our hypothesis is that the stimulation of the sensory fibers of the trigeminal and facial nerves in the EAC is able to increase the stiffness of the ossicular chain by means of a reflex stimulation of malleus and stapes muscles.

From February 1998 to July 1999, 569 patients affected by vestibular disorders--following a whiplash injury and/or a cranial trauma--were studied. The neuro-otological examination included a tonal audiometry, brain stem auditory evoked potentials, clinical and instrumental vestibular tests (caloric test, rotatory test, assessment of visually guided eye movements). The study of eye movements was conducted with the support of the Ulmer video-oculographical system.

Since 1948, contact between two nasal structures has been accepted as a source of facial pain and numerous medical and surgical techniques have been used to alleviate it. We report a series of 15 patients with unilateral headache and contact between two nasal structures. All patients were tested with topical anesthetic to confirm the diagnosis.
