Living organisms have developed finely regulated homeostatic networks to mitigate the effects of environmental fluctuations in transition metal micronutrients, including iron, zinc, and copper. In Saccharomyces cerevisiae, the tandem zinc-finger protein Cth2 post-transcriptionally regulates gene expression under conditions of iron deficiency by controlling the levels of mRNAs that code for non-essential ferroproteins. The molecular mechanism involves Cth2 binding to AU-rich elements present in the 3' untranslated region of target mRNAs, negatively affecting their stability and translation.

In our search for new and selective mGluR negative allosteric modulators (NAMs), series of 6,7-dihydropyrazolo[1,5-]pyrazin-4(5)-one derivatives were identified from our published series of 1,3,5-trisubstituted pyrazoles. SAR evolution of the initial hit resulted in 100-fold improvement in the mGluR NAM potency and subsequent selection of compound based on its overall profile, including selectivity and ADMET properties.

CML results from a chromosomal translocation, forming the BCR-ABL1 fusion gene. Asciminib has been recently approved for 3rd-line refractory or intolerant patients.

In clinical practice, different degrees of impairment can be observed among patients with VSN; however, there is no consensus regarding the criteria and tests used to determine them.
Aim: This study aims to classify patients with VSH based on their level of impairment and to study their response to computerized cognitive training.
Objectives: Innovative precision dietary procedures are required to promote healthy aging. This study aimed to evaluate the effects of a personalised strategy based on the inclusion of individualised foods and digital tools on overall health status and quality of life within a follow-up of 3 months in older adults with overweight or obesity.
Methods: 127 men and women aged between 50 and 80 years with overweight/obesity participated in the study-between January 2020 and September 2020 at the Center for Nutrition Research-University of Navarra and IMDEA-ALIMENTACIÓN-and were randomly assigned to a usual-care group (standard recommendations) or precision group (precision nutrition strategy based on the inclusion of individualised foods and a mobile application).

His findings led him to formulate a neurophysiological theory based on the laws of nervous excitability, which he called brain dynamics. This paper presents in chronological order how the main ideas on which it is based arose.

The "Guttmann Cognitest", which includes seven computerized tasks designed to assess main cognitive functions, revealed in a previous validation study to be a potential useful tool to assess cognitive functioning in healthy middle-aged adults.
Method: Here, we present results from a validation in two different populations: one consisting of older adults, and the other comprising young and middle-aged individuals, some of them affected by acquired brain injury.
Background: As the world population continues to age, the prevalence of neurological diseases, such as dementia, poses a significant challenge to society. Detecting cognitive impairment at an early stage is vital in preserving and enhancing cognitive function. Digital tools, particularly mHealth, offer a practical solution for large-scale population screening and prompt follow-up assessments of cognitive function, thus overcoming economic and time limitations.

Lifestyle interventions have positive neuroprotective effects in aging. However, there are still open questions about how changes in resting-state functional connectivity (rsFC) contribute to cognitive improvements. The Projecte Moviment is a 12-week randomized controlled trial of a multimodal data acquisition protocol that investigated the effects of aerobic exercise (AE), computerized cognitive training (CCT), and their combination (COMB).

Introduction: This is a 12-weeks randomized controlled trial examining the effects of aerobic exercise (AE), computerized cognitive training (CCT) and their combination (COMB). We aim to investigate their impact on cardiovascular health and white matter (WM) integrity and how they contribute to the cognitive benefits.
Methods: 109 participants were recruited and 82 (62% female; age = 58.
Understanding plant immune responses is complex because of the high interdependence among biological processes in homeostatic networks. Hence, the integration of environmental cues causes network rewiring that interferes with defense responses. Similarly, plants retain molecular signatures configured under abiotic stress periods to rapidly respond to recurrent stress, and these can alter immunity.

Here, we showed that three abiotic perturbations-heat, cold, and high light-triggered considerable changes in the expression signatures of 42 epitranscriptomic factors (writers, erasers, and readers) with putative chloroplast-associated functions that formed clusters of commonly expressed genes in Arabidopsis. The expression changes under all conditions were reversible upon deacclimation, identifying epitranscriptomic players as modulators in acclimation processes.

This meeting marked the beginning of a long relationship between the two, which gave Justo Gonzalo the opportunity to study the functional organisation of the brain and to develop an original conception of neurophysiology based on the laws of nervous excitability. The aim of this work is to rediscover patient M and the physiological interpretation of Gonzalo's brain dynamics.

This takes place about 30min after ejaculation and samples must be maintained in the lab during this time. The temperatures for this incubation and the final analysis of motility are crucial but seldom taken into account.

Images were captured at 500 fps, then segmented and analyzed in several ranges of FRs (from 25 to 250) to define the asymptotic point that as an optimal FR. This work was replicated using counting chambers based in capillarity (disposable) or drop displacement (reusable) to study their effects on the motility results and kinematic values of the samples under the different experimental conditions.

Introduction: The duration of post-traumatic amnesia (PTA) helps estimate the level of recovery following traumatic brain injury (TBI). Yet, little information is available about which sociodemographic and clinical variables influence its duration. This study aims to identify them and create a predictive model that makes it possible to estimate the time it takes for a patient to emerge from PTA.

These difficulties in social cognition (SC) deteriorate personal relationships in the family, at work, or in the community. However, therapeutic programmes aiming to improve SC continue to be an outstanding issue in clinical practice.
