The primary prophylaxis (prevention of penetration of the substances which are alien to the organism into its cavities and tissues) and the secondary one (removal of the foreign bodies from the organism of a patient before their penetration into the intestine) are distinguished.

[Study of tissue reaction to chromium magnetic steel].

For studying tissue reaction to stainless steel of 95Cr18, 01Cr25 brands after vacuum-thermal processing, 01Cr18T and magneto-elastic, the balls and disks of these materials were implanted to 40 experimental animals (rabbits). For comparison, 111Cr15 brand steel and titanium were used. The results obtained permit to recommend the chrome magnetic steel studied for implantation into the human and animal organism.

[Foreign bodies in the rectum and colon].

On the basis of analysis of treatment of 80 patients with foreign bodies of the rectum and colon, the volume and character of the therapeutic measures required were defined. The endoscopic methods for removal of the foreign bodies, peculiarities of extraction of the large foreign bodies are presented. The cases of penetration of the foreign bodies into the colon via a natural, or artificial intestinal fistula are described.

[Experience with the reflexotherapy of diskogenic pain syndromes].

The article presents the results of examination of 304 patients with vertebral osteochondrosis and diskogenic pain who have been subjected to multiple-modality treatment (226 of them had various neurosurgical interventions) including acupuncture and drug therapy. Favourable therapeutic effect was achieved in 72% of the cases. Seventy patients were followed up.
