Cerebral cavernous malformations (CCMs) are hemorrhagic vascular disorders with varied clinical and radiological presentations, occurring sporadically due to MAP3K3 or PIK3CA mutations or through inherited germline mutations of CCM genes. This study aimed to clarify the clinical, genetic, and pathological features of CCMs using a multicenter cohort across three Chinese centers. We analyzed 290 surgical specimens from symptomatic CCM patients, utilizing whole-exome sequencing, droplet digital PCR, and targeted panel sequencing, alongside immunohistology to examine genotypic and phenotypic differences.

Background: Weight and body shape concerns have become increasingly common among adolescents. Chinese university students show a high risk of eating disorder behaviors. This study aims to analyze the moderating effect of BMI on the relationships between body shape, attitudes, subjective norms, and eating disorder behavioral intentions among Chinese female university students using the Theory of Reasoned Action (TRA) model.

From personality types to social labels: the impact of using MBTI on social anxiety among Chinese youth.

Introduction: As the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) gains popularity among Chinese young people, it has undergone a gradual transition from being perceived as a personality assessment tool to being regarded as a social label. The objective of this study was to ascertain whether the use of the MBTI as a social label has an impact on social anxiety among Chinese youth groups.

Methods: A questionnaire survey was conducted on social media platforms to recruit Chinese youth aged 18 to 35.

Introduction: This study aimed to evaluate the effects of varied resistance training modalities on physical fitness components, body composition, maximal strength assessed by one-repetition maximum (1RM), isokinetic muscle functions of the shoulder and knee joints, and biomechanical properties of core muscles.

Methods: Forty participants were randomly assigned to four groups: control group (CG, n = 10), compound set training group (CSG, n = 10), pyramid set training group (PSG, n = 10), and superset training group (SSG, n = 10). Excluding the CG, the other three groups underwent an 8-week resistance training program, three sessions per week, at 60%-80% of 1RM intensity for 60-90 min per session.

Craniopharyngiomas (CPs), particularly Adamantinomatous Craniopharyngiomas (ACPs), often exhibit a heightened risk of postoperative recurrence and severe complications of the endocrine and hypothalamic function. The primary objective of this study is to investigate potential novel targeted therapies within the microenvironment of ACP tumors. Cancer-Associated Fibroblasts (CAFs) were identified in the craniopharyngioma microenvironment, notably in regions characterized by cholesterol clefts, wet keratin, ghost cells, and fibrous stroma in ACPs.

Purpose: Surgical treatment for atlantoaxial instability in pediatric patients is challenging. We report our experience with posterior intra-articular distraction technique in treating this disorder.

Methods: This is a retrospective descriptive study which included 15 patients of atlantoaxial instability whose age was less than 16 years at the time of clinical presentation.

Vascular malformation of the spinal cord in children is a rare and complicated disease spectrum. We will start from the basic spinal cord vascular anatomy and the controversial classification of this kind of disease. Then, we will elaborate the clinical manifestations, diagnostic imaging and treatment of pediatric spinal vascular malformations based on the practical experience of our center and from literature.

Methods: PubMed, Web of Science, Embase, Cochrane Library, and PsycINFO were searched for relevant literature from inception to 20 February 2022.
