Metal oxides can deliver high capacity to Li-ion batteries, surpassing conventional graphite, but they suffer from a huge volume change during charging-discharging and poor cycle life. Herein, we merge the dual strategies of 3D-network support and sandwiching design to tackle such issue. We develop a skillful O-NH reactive pyrolysis of cellulose, where the preoxidation and the aminolysis result in the spatially separated charring of cellulose chains.

This work presents strong clinical and experimental evidence demonstrating that Notch signaling contributes to osteosarcoma progression. First, using a cohort of 12 patients, Notch genes were upregulated in tumors compared with adjacent normal tissue, and high tumor expression of Notch1 intercellular domain (NICD1) and the Notch target gene correlated with poor chemotherapy response.

Accumulated evidence claims that urban green spaces (UGS) have a positive impact on the physical and mental health of humans. However, little information is available to clearly reveal what the most important driving factors are for human psychophysiological restoration. In order to unveil this uncertainty, this study employed virtual reality (VR) technology to investigate the physiological (electroencephalogram, EEG), and psychological (attention, positive mood, negative mood) responses and individual preferences for different urban environments.

However, this does not translate into a survival benefit. The aim of this study was to investigate the feasibility and effect of neoadjuvant laparoscopic hyperthermic intraperitoneal chemotherapy (NLHIPEC).

The progress of the selection process was monitored by the recovery rate and the fluorescence enhancement of N-methyl mesoporphyrin IX (NMM) after reacting with each selected pool. After 11 rounds of selection, a truncated aptamer ZnP1.

In this paper, as a proof of concept, we selected DNA aptamers that can specifically recognize and differentiate riboflavin and its derivative flavin adenine dinucleotide (FAD) by a modified method. Here, the random DNA library was indirectly immobilized on streptavidin functional agarose beads by hybridization with its biotinylated short complementary strand, and the specific affinity between aptamers and its target would induce the aptamers to release from beads.

The resulting material was employed as a sorbent for the solid-phase extraction of six phenylurea herbicides (metoxuron, monuron, chlortoluron, isoproturon, monolinuron, and buturon) from environmental water and lettuce leafs. Some key factors that influence the extraction efficiency were studied, including sample loading rate, sample pH, and desorption conditions.

In recent years, toosendanin has been found to inhibit tumor cell proliferation and promote tumor cell apoptosis. Ewing's sarcoma (ES) is the second most common primary malignant bone and soft tissue tumor in children and adolescents.

In this study, we co-analyzed cell proliferation, apoptosis, migration, and invasion in U-2OS osteosarcoma cells treated with Ssd and SP600125 alone or in combination. Cell death and signaling were analyzed using western blotting and flow cytometry.

ER are transcription factors whose activity is finely regulated by various regulatory complexes, including histone deacetylases (HDACs). Here, we investigated the role of HDAC9 in ERα signaling and response to antiestrogens in breast cancer cells.

With the acceleration of urbanization and industrialization, the problem of airborne particulate pollution has become more and more serious. Green areas in urban spaces with different green coverage rates in Baoji City were selected to quantitatively compare the effects and differences of month, time, temperature, humidity, wind velocity, vegetation structure, and area of site on PM2.5 and PM10 concentration.

Several studies have revealed the positive effects of green space and certain activities on counteracting the physical and mental pressure felt by human beings. However, how self-reported stressed people perceive restorative green spaces, their preferences for specific characteristics and activities, and what characteristics of urban green space can induce various types of activities for stress recovery has not been fully examined in the high-density cities of China. Using an on-site questionnaire survey conducted in the People's Park (PP) in Baoji, China, this study is the first to consider the relationship among eight sensory dimensions, activity types and stress recovery in Chinese green space.

The traditional shifted Rayleigh filter (SRF), which assumes known clutter probability, may have degraded performance in challenging scenarios. To improve the tracking performance, a variational Bayesian-based adaptive shifted Rayleigh filter (VB-SRF) is proposed in this paper.

We employ double-layer arcs as 3D chiral color pixels due to their giant difference of chiroptical response to LCP and RCP illumination. Asymmetric and symmetric plasmon coupling modes are attributed to the origin of LCP and RCP colors, respectively.

A number of clinical trials demonstrated that tigecycline was effective and well tolerated in the treatment of patients with various bacterial infections, but few literatures had shown the coagulopathy induced by tigecycline. To address this concern, we performed a retrospective analysis to assess the impact of tigecycline treatment on coagulation parameters in 50 patients with bacterial infections in our hospital (Shandong Provincial Hospital, China). These patients were treated with tigecycline at Shandong Provincial Hospital in 2015-2016 at either a recommended (50 mg q12h) or a higher dose (100 mg q12h).

Aptamers have become the most promising recognition reagents in terms of early diagnosis and effective treatment of cancers. In this study, using cervical cancer as a model, we have identified a DNA aptamer specifically binding to cervical cancer cells with high affinity using the cell-SELEX (systematic evolution of ligands by exponential enrichment) method, in which a negative selection was carried out using normal epithelial cells as control. The binding abilities of 6 selected truncated aptamers were determined by laser confocal fluorescence microscopy and flow cytometry, while most of them only recognize the target cells and do not bind the control cells, and the aptamer C-9S with 51-mer shows the best binding affinity to Ca Ski cells (target cells) with a dissociation constant value of 19.

Periprosthetic bone loss as a result of metastatic infiltration is an uncommon cause of early, progressive loosening of joint replacement prosthesis and is rarely described in the literature.
Patient Concerns: The present study describes a 70-year-old male patient who was diagnosed with pulmonary squamous cell carcinoma 5 years after total hip arthroplasty (THA) and developed a metastasis from squamous cell carcinoma in the periprosthetic neosynovial tissue 1 year after formal chemotherapy.
A novel bispecific α-Gal liposome was constructed by self-assembling AS1411 aptamers into the α-Gal containing liposomes. The α-Gal liposomes were prepared using cell membranes of red blood cells from rabbit, which are composed of cholesterol, phospholipids, and α-Gal glycolipids. AS1411 is a DNA aptamer with high specificity and affinity for nucleolin and could integrate into liposomes by the modification of cholesterol.
