Dichloromethane (DCM) is susceptible to microbial degradation under anoxic conditions and is metabolized via the Wood-Ljungdahl pathway; however, mechanistic understanding of carbon-chlorine bond cleavage is lacking. The microbial consortium RM contains the DCM degrader " Dichloromethanomonas elyunquensis" strain RM, which strictly requires DCM as a growth substrate. Proteomic workflows applied to DCM-grown consortium RM biomass revealed a total of 1,705 nonredundant proteins, 521 of which could be assigned to strain RM.

The electron density distribution of the complex monoanion Cu(CF) in (BuN)[Cu(CF)] has been studied by high-resolution X-ray single-crystal diffraction and augmented with theoretical calculations. Twelve undescribed compounds including six phenanthrene derivatives (parviphenanthrines A-F), two stilbene derivatives (parvistilbines A-B), three esters (parviesters A-C), and one sesquiterpenoid (parvidiol A) were isolated from the roots of Stemona parviflora, together with twenty-two known ones. The structures of the undescribed compounds were elucidated based on the analyses of their spectroscopic data. The absolute configuration of parviphenanthrine A was determined by the quantum ECD calculations.

Diphenyl phosphate (DPP) was exploited as an organocatalyst to synthesize copolymers by ring-opening polymerization with α-bromo-γ-butyrolactone (αBrγBL) and ε-caprolactone (εCL) as monomers and polyethylene glycol (PEG) as initiator. The conversion rates of monomers and molecular weights of copolymers synthesized under different conditions were determined by H-NMR. The H-NMR results showed that the copolymers of αBrγBL and εCL initiated by PEG (PEGCB) were successfully synthesized and the conversions of εCL were relatively high (>70%), while the conversions of αBrγBL were relatively low (<26%).

The VO₂ thin films with sharp metal⁻insulator transition (MIT) were epitaxially grown on (001)-oriented Yttria-stabilized zirconia substrates (YSZ) using radio-frequency (RF) magnetron sputtering techniques. The MIT and structural phase transition (SPT) were comprehensively investigated under in situ temperature conditions. The amplitude of MIT is in the order of magnitude of 10⁴, and critical temperature is 342 K during the heating cycle.

Surface reconstruction during electrocatalysis can form fresh-composition electrocatalysts with unusual amorphous phases in situ, which are more active but difficult to prepare by conventional methods. The anisotropy of the magnetic properties of molecular magnets is a key descriptor in the search for improved magnets. Herein, it is shown how an analytical approach using single-crystal polarized neutron diffraction (PND) provides direct access to atomic magnetic susceptibility tensors. The technique was applied for the first time to two Dy-based single-molecule magnets and showed clear axial atomic susceptibility for both Dy ions.
