This study characterized the parent and alkylated polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) in gaseous and particulate emissions from the in situ burning (ISB) of oils. The experimental results indicate that the burning of the heavy oil produced the most PAH emissions because of its longest burning time. In addition, the parent PAHs mainly exist in the particulate phase, while alkylated PAHs mostly accumulate in the gaseous phase.

Hadal ocean biosphere, that is, the deepest part of the world's oceans, harbors a unique microbial community, suggesting a potential uncovered co-occurring virioplankton assemblage. Herein, we reveal the unique virioplankton assemblages of the Challenger Deep, comprising 95,813 non-redundant viral contigs from the surface to the hadal zone. Deeply investigating the relationship between governance, financial development, and outward foreign direct investment (OFDI) is beneficial to formulating effective policies to accelerate Chinese firms' pace of overseas expansion. Based on the theoretical mechanism analysis, this paper empirically analyzes the impact of Asian governance and financial development on China's OFDI using the panel data of 37 Asian countries from 2003 to 2017. The results show that the host country governance has a negative and statistically significant impact on China's direct investment in Asia.
