Objectives: Liver fibrosis resulting from nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) and metabolic disorders is highly prevalent in patients with severe obesity and poses a significant health challenge. However, there is a lack of data on the effectiveness of noninvasive factors in predicting liver fibrosis. Therefore, this study aimed to assess the relationship between these factors and liver fibrosis through a machine learning approach.

Gold nanoclusters were synthesized based on the structure of the TetX2 Monooxygenase enzyme to make a nanocluster based on enzyme structure (TetX2@Au-NCs). Kinetic analysis of TetX2@Au-NC nanozyme revealed that the Km values of TetX2@Au-NCs to both HO and TMB chromogenic substrate components are higher in the absence of tetracycline. Additionally, the Vmax of the nanozyme for TMB increased in the presence of tetracycline.

In this article, we present a joint modeling approach for zero-inflated longitudinal count measurements and time-to-event outcomes. For the longitudinal sub-model, a mixed effects Hurdle model is utilized, incorporating various distributional assumptions such as zero-inflated Poisson, zero-inflated negative binomial, or zero-inflated generalized Poisson. For the time-to-event sub-model, a Cox proportional hazard model is applied.

Using a chemiluminescence reaction between luminol and HO in basic solution, an ultrasensitive electrochemiluminescence (ECL) aptasensor was developed for the determination of tobramycin (TOB), as an aminoglycoside antibiotic. TiC/Ni/Sm-LDH-based nanocomposite effectively catalyzes the oxidation of luminol and decomposition of HO, leading to the formation of different reactive oxygen species (ROSs), thus amplifying the ECL signal intensity of luminol, which can be used for the determination of TOB concentration. To evaluate the performance of the electrochemiluminescence aptasensor and synthesized nanocomposite, different methods such as cyclic voltammetry (CV) and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) analyses were performed.

A method is presented for chemiluminescence resonance energy transfer (CRET) using APTES-FeO as a highly efficient energy acceptor with strong magnetic effectiveness over extended distances, while an Au@BSA-luminol composite acts as the donor. In order to boost the chemiluminescence reactions, CuO nanoparticles were successfully employed. The distance between the donor and acceptor is a crucial factor in the occurrence of the CRET phenomenon.

To address the need for facile, rapid detection of pathogens in water supplies, a fluorescent sensing array platform based on antibiotic-stabilized metal nanoclusters was developed for the multiplex detection of pathogens. Using five common antibiotics, eight different nanoclusters (NCs) were synthesized including ampicillin stabilized copper NCs, cefepime stabilized gold and copper NCs, kanamycin stabilized gold and copper NCs, lysozyme stabilized gold NCs, and vancomycin stabilized gold/silver and copper NCs. Based on the different interaction of each NC with the bacteria strains, unique patterns were generated.

The stable decoding of movement parameters using neural activity is crucial for the success of brain-machine interfaces (BMIs). However, neural activity can be unstable over time, leading to changes in the parameters used for decoding movement, which can hinder accurate movement decoding. To tackle this issue, one approach is to transfer neural activity to a stable, low-dimensional manifold using dimensionality reduction techniques and align manifolds across sessions by maximizing correlations of the manifolds.

A dual-targeting nanobiosensor has been developed for the simultaneous detection of AMELX and AMELY genes based on the different fluorescence signals emitted from gold and silver nanoclusters, AuNCs and AgNCs respectively. In our design, both catalytic hairpin assembly (CHA) and hybridization chain reaction (HCR) have been used as isothermal, enzyme-free and simple methods for signal's amplification. The working principle is based on the initiation of a cascade of CHA-HCR reactions when AMELX is present, in which AuNCs, synthesized on the third hairpin, are aggregated on the surface of the dsDNA product, performing the phenomenon of aggregation induced emission (AIE) and enhancing their fluorescence signal.

The manuscript describes a method for understanding the correlation of structural features and first oxidation potentials [Formula: see text] of electron-donating compounds (EDCs) with tetrathiafulvalene (TTF), dithiadiazafulvalenes (DTDAF), and tetraazafulvalene (TAF) frameworks. The density functional theory (DFT) procedure at B3LYP (6-31 + g(d)) was used for geometric optimization, given the large dimensions of the molecules studied, and their high structural similarity. First of all, the correlation between the oxidation potential and the highest occupied molecular orbital (HOMO) energy level as an effective quantum chemical descriptor was examined.
