Oncogenic RAS mutations are associated with tumor resistance to radiation therapy. Cell-cell interactions in the tumor microenvironment (TME) profoundly influence therapy outcomes. However, the nature of these interactions and their role in Ras tumor radioresistance remain unclear.

Cardiomyocytes were exposed to normal and high glucose level in the presence and absence of glucodendrimers. Cytotoxicity studies were also carried out and the expression of metalloproteinases mainly MMP-2 and 9 was confirmed with gelatine zymography and RT-PCR gene expression studies.

Dysregulation of matrix metalloproteinase especially 2 and 9 were considered to be responsible for the abnormal collagen deposition, which resulting improper cardiac contractile function in diabetic mice. Mice received a single dose of streptozotocin (100 mg/kg) through tail vein to induce diabetes.
