This study investigates the use of DNA hydrogels for diagnosing and treating Oral Squamous Cell Carcinoma (OSCC) by loading them with Zinc Oxide Nanoparticles (ZnO NPs) and Cisplatin.
In vitro and in vivo experiments showed that these hydrogels enhance the delivery of Cisplatin to cancer cells, potentially lowering necessary drug doses and related side effects.
The combination of Cisplatin and ZnO NPs demonstrates strong antibacterial effects and improves the accuracy of tumor diagnosis, suggesting that DNA hydrogels could provide a more effective and patient-centric treatment option for OSCC.
