A Gram stain-positive, rod-shaped, motile, aerobic and terminal endospore formation bacterium, designated YIM B00362, was isolated from saline soil samples collected from a salt lake in Xinjiang Province, north-west China. Phylogenetic analysis based on the 16S rRNA gene sequences and whole genomes indicated that the isolate belongs to the genus Paenibacillus. However, the highest sequence similarity between strain YIM B00362 and the relatives was only 94.

Article Synopsis
  • A new actinomycete strain, YIM S01255, was isolated from a salt lake, showing optimal growth in certain NaCl concentrations, pH levels, and temperatures.
  • It has unique biochemical signatures, including specific amino acids, sugars, and fatty acids, distinguishing it within the Pseudonocardiaceae family.
  • Due to its distinct genetic features and phylogenetic analysis, YIM S01255 is proposed as a novel species and genus, named Qaidamihabitans albus, with closely related species being reclassified under this new genus.

A Gram-stain-positive, aerobic, nonmotile actinobacterium, designated strain YIM 93776, was isolated from a saline sediment sample collected from Aiding Lake in Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, Northwest China. Phylogenetic analysis based on the 16S rRNA gene sequences showed that strain YIM 93776 was affiliated to the genus Glycomyces and was closely related to Glycomyces albus TRM 49136 (97.6% sequence similarity), Glycomyces lacisalsi XHU 5089 (97.

A bacterial strain, Gram staining negative, aerobic, long rod, motile bacterium with flagellum, designated strain YIM 98829, was isolated from the Aiding Lake in Xinjiang province, North-West China. The isolate produced oval subterminal endospores in swollen sporangia. The predominant menaquinone was MK-7.

YIM B00359, a novel bacterial strain was isolated from the saline soil of Turpan city in Xinjiang province, north-west China. The strain was Gram-stain-positive, motile, aerobic, produced oval subterminal endospores in swollen sporangia. The whole-cell hydrolysates contain meso-diaminopimelic acid as the cell-wall diamino acid, with xylose, glucose, and ribose as the major whole-cell sugars.

Objectives: The objective of this study was to compare the results of two methods for sparing the pronator quadratus in volar plating of distal radius fractures.

Methods: A total of 110 patients were randomized to volar plating with sparing of the pronator quadratus either by a transverse incision along the distal border of the pronator quadratus (Group A, 55 people) or by the brachioradialis splitting method (Group B, 55 people). The operative and radiation time, range of motion, grip strength, Disabilities of the Arm, Shoulder, and Hand (DASH) scores, Visual Analog Scale (VAS) scores, and complications were recorded.
