Background: Atrial flutter is an uncommon arrhythmia that can cause severe morbidity, including heart failure and even death in refractory cases. This study investigated the clinical characteristics, treatment, and long-term outcomes of patients with neonatal atrial flutter and its association with heart failure.
Methods: We retrospectively reviewed atrial flutter cases observed in our center between 1999 and 2021 and analyzed the clinical characteristics, treatment, and recurrence according to the presence of heart failure.

Purpose: Esophageal atresia (EA) with or without tracheoesophageal fistula (TEF) is a congenital anomaly that can cause frequent digestive and nutritional problems, even after repair. The most common complication is anastomotic stricture, for which reoperation or balloon dilatation is performed. This study aimed to evaluate the postoperative complications of EA and the role of endoscopic balloon dilatation (EBD) in cases of anastomotic stricture.

It has been associated with other midline fusion defects, most significantly Cantrell's pentalogy, involving the sternum, pericardium, heart, diaphragm, and abdominal wall. This study reported a successfully managed case of a newborn with a total sternal cleft and Cantrell's pentalogy.

Aboveground vegetation directly affects the quantity and quality of exogenous organic matter input into the soil through plant residues and root exudates, which in turn affects soil microbial species, community structure, and activity, and ultimately impacts the chemical structure of SOM. In this study, a C nuclear magnetic resonance technique was used to analyze the chemical structure characteristics of soil organic carbon (SOC) under various rates of straw returning combined with rotary tillage and under full straw mulching.

Previously, we reported that PM014 treatment significantly suppressed pulmonary fibrosis, one of the frequent adverse effects of anticancer therapy in lung cancer. Before the clinical application of PM014 in anticancer therapy, the safety and efficacy of PM014 in combination with conventional anticancer drugs should be addressed to determine whether PM014 can be used in lung cancer.

Purpose: The method of percutaneous endoscopic gastrostomy (PEG) tube placement can be divided into the pull and introducer techniques. We compared short-term complications and prognosis between patients who underwent the pull technique and two other types of introducer techniques, the trocar introducer technique and T-fastener gastropexy technique.
Methods: Twenty-six patients who underwent PEG were enrolled in this study.
Described herein is the case of a previously healthy 7-year-old girl who had splenic infarction. This lesion was identified 1 day after the first presentation of peri-umbilical and right upper quadrant pain. She had abnormal hepatic function and mild splenomegaly, and was diagnosed as having primary Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) infection.

The most common cause of failure is the incomplete removal of disc fragments. The skin entry point for the guide-needle trajectory and the optimal placement of the working sleeve are largely blind, which might lead to the inadequate removal of disc fragments.

These Bi(2)Te(3) nanowires were single crystals with a hexagonal lattice. The Sn catalyst played a key role in achieving the one-dimensional nanowire structures, while the absence of Sn resulted in other morphologies such as nanoplates, nanooctahedrons and nanospheres.

In this study, a computational method was proposed to identify FMN binding sites based on amino acid sequences of proteins only. A modified Position Specific Score Matrix was used to characterize the local environmental sequence information, and a visible improvement of performance was obtained.

Identification of NAD protein interacting sites can significantly aid in understanding the NAD dependent metabolism and pathways, and it could further contribute useful information for drug development. In this study, a computational method is proposed to predict NAD-protein interacting sites using the sequence information and structure-based information.

So the imbalanced data problem will arise in the field of protein-protein interactions (PPIs) prediction. In this article, we introduce two ensemble methods to solve the imbalanced data problem.
