Although China's low-permeability and tight oil reservoir utilization and newly proven reserves are growing annually, the overall recovery of such reservoirs is generally low. One of the main factors influencing the low recovery is the effect of intricate dynamic fracture propagations on the remaining oil distribution. Constrained by the evolution of an in situ stress field and the accumulation of fluid injection volumes, the growth of dynamic fractures allows a production profile of water breakthrough.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFLung adenocarcinoma (LUAD) is a common type of lung cancer with complicated pathological mechanism. Transcription Factor AP-2 Alpha (TFAP2A) and Cysteine protease inhibitor 1 (CST1) are upregulated genes in LUAD samples, accordingly, we focused on clarifying the role of TFAP2A/CST1 axis in LUAD. Expression analysis was performed using real-time quantitative polymerase chain reaction and western blot.

However, such oil fields generally face problems such as rapid pressure drop, rapid production decline, difficulty in water injection, and gas channeling, seriously affecting the beneficial development of tight conglomerate reservoirs. To solve these problems, in this study, we carried out the feasibility experiment of different gas injection developments and the potential evaluation of enhanced oil recovery based on the combination of laboratory experiments and numerical simulation.

The functional roles of focal adhesion-related genes were explored in LUSC based on data from The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA).
Methods: RNA sequencing data and clinical characteristics of LUSC patients in TCGA-LUSC were obtained from the TCGA database.

Background: CircRNA has a covalently closed circular conformation and a stable structure. However, the exact role of circRNA in esophageal squamous cell carcinoma (ESCC) remains uncertain. The purpose of this study was to explore the role of hsa_circ_0000277 (circ_PDE3B) in ESCC.

The nucleation of large magnitude events has been demonstrated to be closely linked to site-specific geological and operational factors. A mitigation strategy of fracturing-induced seismicity concerning both factors has not been well investigated.

Clinically, only brain natriuretic peptide (BNP) or its precursor N-terminus proBNP (NTproBNP) has been validated for HF diagnosis, but they are also affected by other conditions, such as female gender, renal disease, and acute coronary syndromes, and false low levels in the setting of obesity or flash pulmonary edema. In addition, there is no one biomarker which could encompass all heart failure phenotypes.

Background: Because of limited stability and sensitivity, circulating miRNAs as noninvasive biomarkers have not so far been used for early diagnosis and prognosis of non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) in clinic. Therefore, it is imperative to find more reliable biomarker(s).
Methods: We performed one of most sensitive qRT-PCR assays, S-Poly(T) Plus, to select differently expressed miRNAs from genome-wide miRNA profiling.
Background: Hypertension is a significant global public health problem and recognized as an important risk factor for cardiovascular diseases. This study was designed to assess the current prevalence of hypertension and to explore risk factors associated with hypertension by urban and rural status to guide the prevention and control of hypertension in Jilin province.
Methods: A multi-stage stratified random cluster sampling method was used to obtain data on hypertension, which was investigated by physical examination and face-to-face questionnaire in July 2014-December 2015.
Background: Drug-eluting balloons (DEB) have significant value for treating coronary artery disease (CAD). However, the merits of using DEB versus drug-eluting stents (DES) to treat CAD remain controversial. Herein, we conducted a meta-analysis to compare the safety and efficacy of DEB and DES for treatment of CAD.

In this study, we identified miR-322 as one of the microRNAs induced in lungs of chronically hypoxic mice and rats. The expression of miR-322 was also upregulated in primary cultured rat pulmonary arterial smooth muscle cells (PASMC) in response to hypoxia.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFChronic hypoxia triggers pulmonary vascular remodeling, which is associated with de-differentiation of pulmonary artery smooth muscle cells (PASMC). Here, we show that miR-20a expression is up-regulated in response to hypoxia in both mouse and human PASMC. We also observed that miR-20a represses the protein kinase, cGMP-dependent, type I (PRKG1) gene and we identified two crucial miR-20a binding sites within the coding region of PRKG1.

Gastrointestinal stromal tumors (GISTs) are rare mesenchymal neoplasms of the gastrointestinal tract. Less than 1% occurs in the esophagus. Surgery is the primary treatment for patients with GISTs.

However, the increase in steroid release is clearly associated with a series of intra-adrenal changes in the expression of steroidogenic enzymes needed for dehydroepiandrosterone (DHEA) and dehydroepiandrosterone sulfate (DHEAS) production, as well as an expansion of the adrenal zona reticularis (ZR). We and others have defined the adrenal expression pattern of key steroidogenic enzymes during adrenarche.

Method: The content of the self management compliance promotion program developed by this study was as follows: A leader trains patients as a group or individually, in walking, education and green tea therapy from the first to twelfth week. From the thirteenth to twenty fourth week, the patients should perform walking and green tea therapy by themselves.
