At the end of the past century, the introduction of Total Mesorectal Excision (TME), preceded by either short-course radiotherapy (SCRT) or chemoradiation (CRT), established the new standard of care for locally advanced rectal cancer (LARC). Recently, significant advancements were achieved for both dMMR/MSI and pMMR/MSS LARC patients. For the 2-3% of dMMR/MSI LARCs, ablative immunotherapy emerged as a curative approach, offering the possibility of avoiding chemotherapy (CT), radiotherapy, and surgery altogether.

TRT requires a supply of radionuclides that are currently produced by either cyclotrons or nuclear research reactors. In this context, the ISOLPHARM project investigates the production of innovative radionuclides for medical applications.

Methods: Three preactivations were tested using a 0.017 × 0.
Colorectal cancer that occurs before age of 50 is defined as Early-Onset Colorectal Cancer (EOCRC). Its incidence has worryingly increased since the late 90 s and is expected to keep rising in the next future, despite Late-Onset CRC (LOCRC) is decreasing worldwide. Because of this, there is an urgent need to better understand this subset of patients in order to give them the best treatment possible.

Material And Methods: The sample consisted of right-sided standardized radiographs of 34 individuals (21 females and 13 males), aged between 13 and 24 (average 16) years, with all permanent teeth intact and without crowding. Four periapical and four interproximal radiographs were obtained and digitized.
Background: Although nivolumab prolongs overall survival (OS) in pretreated patients with metastatic renal cell carcinoma (mRCC), underlining clinical and biological features of long-term responses are still to be determined. This study aims to investigate clinical and pathological characteristics of mRCC patients who achieved long-term responses during nivolumab treatment.
Materials And Methods: A retrospective analysis was performed on mRCC patients receiving nivolumab as second or further therapy line between May 2016 and January 2019 in 34 Italian Oncology Centres.
Overexpression of the Runt-related transcription factor 2 () has been reported in several cancer types, and the C-X-C motif chemokine receptor 4 () has an important role in tumour progression. However, the interplay between and in melanoma cells remains poorly understood. In the present study, we used melanoma cells and a knockout (-KO) in vitro model to assess the influence of on CXCR4 protein levels along with its effects on markers associated with cell invasion and autophagy.

BRAF V600E mutation and/or MLH1 promoter methylation (Reflex Testing, RefT)generally rule out LS in MLH1-deficient (dMLH1) patients. We estimated the impact of RefTon genetic counseling (GC) and on the diagnostic yield of genetic testing (GT).

Its decay properties closely resemble the clinically established lutetium-177, making it an attractive candidate for therapeutic applications. In addition, the clinical value of silver-111 is further enhanced by the existence of the positron-emitting counterpart silver-103, thus imparting a truly theranostic potential to this element.

The approach may be especially favorable when performing immediate loading procedures, increasing the implant osseointegration rate, and reducing the risk of implant and prosthetic failure. The instantaneous loading technique (ILT) involves creating a metal framework to splint the implants by intraorally welding them pair-by-pair, using purposefully created abutments.

The introduction into clinical practice of prostate-specific membrane antigen positron emission tomography/computed tomography (PSMA PET/CT) has significantly improved diagnostic capacity, allowing for the identification of lesions previously undetectable. The case we are presenting is about a 90-year-old man affected by metastatic prostate cancer and treated with hormonal therapies.

These alleles are also associated with other autoimmune diseases including type 1 dia-betes (T1D) and these patients are consequently at a higher risk of developing CD. We examined the frequency of high-risk HLA alleles in a cohort of South African T1D pediatric patients.

Methods: Patients from the Meet-URO 5 ADHERE study were assessed with a 5-item caregiver evaluation questionnaire focusing on the presence, age, degree of kinship, working status and qualification of the caregiver. We investigated the association between the presence of a caregiver and the clinical characteristics and outcomes of enrolled patients.
Introduction: Apalutamide is an oral selective androgen receptor inhibitor, approved by the FDA for the treatment of patients with non-metastatic, castration-resistant prostate cancer (M0 CRPC) at high risk of developing metastases and for patients with metastatic castration-sensitive prostate (mHSPC) in association with androgen deprivation therapy (ADT). In the registration studies, skin reactions were reported among the most common side effects and as an adverse event of special interest.
Case Report: Apalutamide-induced rash includes a wide spectrum of different types of skin reactions, but few cases reports and case series have described this adverse event.
Colorectal cancer (CRC) is the third leading cause of cancer-related deaths worldwide, despite several advances has been achieved in last decades. Few prognostic and predictive biomarkers guide therapeutic choice in metastatic CRC (mCRC), among which DNA mismatch repair deficiency and/or microsatellite instability (dMMR/MSI) holds a crucial role. Tumors characterized by dMMR/MSI benefit from immune checkpoint inhibitors.

FBXW11, also known as b-TrCP2, belongs to the F-box family, which targets the proteins to be degraded by UPS. Transcription factors or proteins associated with cell cycle can be modulated by FBXW11, which may stimulate or inhibit cellular proliferation.

This kind of cancer therapy exploits the radiation following the decay of a specific radionuclide to deliver a lethal dose to tumor tissues. In the framework of the ISOLPHARM project of INFN, Ag was recently proposed as a promising core of a therapeutic radiopharmaceutical.

Because of the demonstrated little reliability of humans in reporting memories of painful experiences, this work explores the reliability of cancer patients in reporting chemotherapy-related toxicities.
Aim: This study aims to evaluate the concordance between toxicities experienced by the patients during chemotherapy and toxicities reported to the doctor at the end of the cycles.
Immune checkpoint inhibitors have significantly improved the therapeutic scenario of many different advanced malignancies and could be an effective treatment strategy in synchronous or metachronous tumors. The authors describe the clinical case of a patient who experienced a long-lasting response of his metastatic renal cell carcinoma and an optimal response of his locally advanced cutaneous squamous cell carcinoma to immunotherapy. The systemic treatment was chosen based on a literature review of several clinical reports, since there was no prospective study on anti-PD-1 blockade activity in cutaneous squamous cell carcinoma when the patient started the treatment.

Methods: A comprehensive analysis of inflammatory indexes from peripheral blood and clinical factors was planned on the entire real-world cohort of pretreated patients with advanced urinary tract carcinoma receiving atezolizumab in the prospective, single-arm, phase IIIb SAUL study.
Alzheimer's disease (AD), the most common type of dementia, currently represents an extremely challenging and unmet medical need worldwide. Amyloid-β (Aβ) and Tau proteins are prototypical AD hallmarks, as well as validated drug targets. Accumulating evidence now suggests that they synergistically contribute to disease pathogenesis.

The prognostic role of nephrectomy has been widely investigated with cytokines and targeted therapy, but it is still unclear in the immunotherapy era.
Methods: We investigated the Meet-URO-15 study dataset of 571 pretreated mRCC patients receiving nivolumab as second or further lines about the prognostic role of the previous nephrectomy (received in either the localized or metastatic setting) in the overall population and according to the Meet-URO score groups.
