Postoperative atrial fibrillation (POAF) after cardiac surgery is associated with higher morbidity and mortality. This paper presents several studies that conclude the presence of an aberrant p-terminal force vector in lead V1 (PTFV1) has been identified as a significant predictor of atrial fibrillation in the non-surgical population. It is uncertain whether or not there is an association of PTFV1 and new-onset POAF in patients after cardiac surgery.

However, experimental limitations hinder the comprehensive measurement of cells under native temporal dynamics and in their native spatial tissue niche. Optimal transport has emerged as a powerful tool to address these constraints and has facilitated the recovery of the original cellular context.

Few explanations have been offered for these recent developments. One proposal that has generated considerable attention is the notion of "rapid-onset" gender dysphoria, which is assumed to apply to a subset of adolescents and young adults.

The present case study illustrates possible therapeutic interventions of these common psychiatric comorbidities taking into account the family interaction patterns. This can contribute to improve holistic management and overall level of functionality.

Yet, it is often unclear whether or not a measured response significantly differs from a curve without regulation, particularly in high-throughput applications or unstable assays. Treating potency and effect size estimates from random and true curves with the same level of confidence can lead to incorrect hypotheses and issues in training machine learning models.

This study examined how personality disorders (PD) differ with respect to gender, attachment status and traumatic childhood experiences in adolescent psychiatric inpatients. In particular, we investigated attachment-related traumatic material underlying adolescent PD. Our sample consisted of 175 inpatient adolescents aged 14 to 18 years (77% female, M = 15.

Such a construction might lead to a non-symmetric and non-homogeneous functional, which excludes the use of such approximations for the evaluation of the total energy. We propose a general formalism to construct a symmetric version based on a perturbation theory approach of the energy expression for the asymmetric part.

However, the optimal contrasts and presentation modes are still under discussion. Therefore, we aimed to create and analyse a visual stimulation paradigm with defined contrast.

Many discrete integrators for DLRA have recently been proposed, based on splitting the projected vector field or by applying projected Runge-Kutta methods. The cost and accuracy of these methods are mostly governed by the rank chosen for the approximation.

Cross-points in domain decomposition, i.e., points where more than two subdomains meet, have received substantial attention over the past years, since domain decomposition methods often need special attention in their definition at cross-points, in particular if the transmission conditions of the domain decomposition method contain derivatives, like in the Dirichlet-Neumann method.

(2020) we defined a new partition of unity for the Bank-Jimack domain decomposition method in 1D and proved that with the new partition of unity, the Bank-Jimack method is an optimal Schwarz method in 1D and thus converges in two iterations for two subdomains: it becomes a direct solver, and this independently of the outer coarse mesh one uses! In this paper, we show that the Bank-Jimack method in 2D is an optimized Schwarz method and its convergence behavior depends on the structure of the outer coarse mesh each subdomain is using. For an equally spaced coarse mesh its convergence behavior is not as good as the convergence behavior of optimized Schwarz.

The present study examined for the first time heart rate (HR) and heart rate variability (HRV) during an attachment interview in adolescents. HR and HRV data were collected during a baseline assessment as well as during the administration of the () in a community-based sample of 56 adolescents (26 females and 30 males, mean age = 16.

Attachment researchers propose that the term affect regulation is associated with attachment-related defensive processes resulting from attachment experiences with primary caregivers. They serve to regulate attachment-related inner states. The Adult Attachment Projective Picture System (AAP) is a reliable and valid tool to classify attachment patterns and it allows to assess these attachment-related defensive processes.

These variations may explain differences in the speed and time per turn profiles, which are essential for performance development and injury prevention. This study aims to address the differences in course setting and steepness of the different course sections (flat-medium-steep) and compare them to the performance parameters among young (U12, U14, U16) and older (U18, U21, elite) male athletes.

These three mummies were excavated in the early 17th and late 19th centuries in the Saqqara necropolis near the ancient Egyptian capital of Memphis. Two of them experienced an interesting collection history, when they became part of the collection of the Elector of Saxony and King of Poland August II in Dresden, Germany, in 1728.

Our findings demonstrate that adolescents with a high amount of traumatic attachment-related material show a lower resilience when facing traumatic childhood experiences, resulting in a greater severity of personality dysfunction. In particular, the associations between emotional abuse and neglect and the domains of identity, empathy, self-direction, and intimacy were mediated by the severity of attachment trauma.
