Acute neuroinflammation, which is notably characterized by a significant elevation in pro-inflammatory cytokines and chemokines, often rapidly develops following a traumatic spinal cord injury and exacerbates damage in the lesion area. This study addresses the limitations inherent in strategies that regulate only a single or a few cytokines, which are often insufficient to counteract the progression of secondary injuries. We explore the use of polydopamine nanoparticles as a broad-spectrum immunomodulator, capable of capturing by adsorption a wide range of cytokines and thereby effectively suppressing neuroinflammation.

Zinc-containing dust (ZCD) has received extensive attention because it is a hazardous waste rich in various metals. This study innovatively proposed a hybrid acid leaching agent based on malic acid (MA) and sulfuric acid to selectively extract Zn from ZCD and successfully prepare nano-ZnO materials. The leaching experiments show that among the combinations of various organic acids and sulfuric acid, MA and sulfuric acid are superior in the selective leaching of Zn.

Introduction: Aggressive behaviors in the online gaming world are frequent and have far-reaching negative effects.

Method: To explore the factors and mechanisms of aggressive in games, we surveyed 945 university students using a framework of social dominance orientation, online disinhibition, moral disengagement, and aggression in gaming, and examined the moderating role of gender traits.

Results: We found no direct relationship between online disinhibition and aggression in gaming; however, through the mediating role of moral disengagement, online disinhibition indirectly affected aggression in gaming behavior and enhanced social dominance orientation.

Hybrid wood fiber/plastic composites offer a high-value-added utilization for agroforestry waste, which also providing a promising solution for reducing white pollution. However, the interface incompatibility between natural wood fibers and polymers significantly impairs the mechanical properties of the composites.
