Article Synopsis
  • The study investigates the timing of COVID-19 booster doses and antibody response in healthcare workers over a period from March to December 2021.
  • Antibody levels were significantly different across four measurements, showing a decline over time for both BNT162b2 and CoronaVac vaccines, especially impacted by the number of doses and the interval between vaccinations.
  • The findings suggest that longer intervals between booster doses potentially lead to higher and more sustained antibody levels, enhancing protection for healthcare workers.

Limited data are available on the short- to midterm levels of antibodies to the CoronaVac vaccine and quantitative change in humoral response after homologous or heterologous booster doses. In this prospective cohort study, we evaluated the anti-receptor-binding domain (RBD) immunoglobulin G (IgG) levels after two doses of CoronaVac and heterologous/homologous booster administration among healthcare workers in a university hospital in Turkey. Quantitative anti-RBD IgG antibody levels were measured at first and fourth months in 560 healthcare workers who had completed two doses of CoronaVac vaccine, and within 2 months after the third dose of CoronaVac or BNT162b2.

Chondrolipomas are benign mesenchymal tumors that have two mature tissues simultaneously and emerge as a result of cartilaginous metaplasia in lipomas. They rarely occur in the head and neck area (1%-4%), and occur more frequently in the 60-70 years age group. Although there are cases of the nasopharynx, tongue, lip, and neck reported in the literature, we have been able to find only two cases on tonsils.
