The terminology used to describe reflectance confocal microscopy (RCM) findings in both melanocytic and nonmelanocytic lesions has been standardized in English. We convened a panel of Spanish-speaking RCM experts and used the Delphi method to seek consensus on which Spanish terms best describe RCM findings in this setting. The experts agreed on 52 terms: 28 for melanocytic lesions and 24 for nonmelanocytic lesions.

Greater sage-grouse (Centrocercus urophasianus) populations have declined across their range due to human-assisted factors driving large-scale habitat change. In response, the state of Wyoming implemented the Sage-grouse Executive Order protection policy in 2008 as a voluntary regulatory mechanism to minimize anthropogenic disturbance within defined sage-grouse core population areas. Our objectives were to evaluate areas designated as Sage-grouse Executive Order Core Areas on: (1) oil and gas well pad development, and (2) peak male lek attendance in core and non-core sage-grouse populations.

The clinical distinction between basal cell carcinoma (BCC) and intradermal melanocytic nevus lesions on the face can be difficult, particularly in young patients or patients with multiple nevi. Dermoscopy is a useful tool for analyzing characteristic dermoscopic features of BCC, such as cartwheel structures, maple leaf-like areas, blue-gray nests and dots, and ulceration. It also reveals arborizing telangiectatic vessels and prominent curved vessels, which are typical of BCC, and comma vessels, which are typical of intradermal melanocytic nevi.

Background: Dermoscopic screening facilitates early detection of melanoma and is recommended in patients with multiple or atypical nevi.

Objectives: To investigate whether dermoscopic features of acquired melanocytic nevi differ between six body sites (neck, axilla, pectoral area, shoulders, buttocks, legs) and the trunk.

Methods And Materials: One hundred six patients with atypical nevi syndrome from a Digital Dermoscopy Unit were evaluated for the presence of nevi in each of seven body sites, and nevi representative of each region were selected as the predominant nevi.

We examined the preparation method of the calibration standard for an ELISA kit for measuring crustacean protein in food products. The initial extract of the calibration standard was stabilized by addition of protease inhibitor to the extracting solution and heating at 100 degrees C for 10 min. In accordance with the preparation procedure for calibrators, we prepared 3 lots of initial extract of calibration standard and analyzed the protein concentration and SDS-electrophoretic pattern.

A lateral-flow immunochromatography (IC) assay for the detection of human metapneumovirus (hMPV) has been developed by using two mouse monoclonal antibodies to the nucleocapsid protein of hMPV. One of these materials is Bio-Alcamid, a non reabsorbable gel polymer constituted by meshes of poly-alkyl-imide, without known adverse effects. Human metapneumovirus (hMPV) nucleocapsid (N) protein is a major structural protein that encapsidates the RNA genome and is essential for replication and transcription of the hMPV genome. We developed two mouse monoclonal antibodies (MAbs), designated 3D1 and 5B10, against N protein of hMPV and characterized them by an immunofluorescence assay and an immunoprecipitation assay using Trichoplusia ni (Tn5) insect cells infected with a recombinant baculovirus-expressing hMPV N protein. Both MAbs were found to be reactive to two groups of hMPV by an immunofluorescence assay using two groups of hMPV-infected cells.
