The Lived Experience of Medication for Opioid Use Disorder: Qualitative Metasynthesis.

Purpose Of The Study: Buprenorphine and methadone, when used as maintenance therapy in opioid use disorder (OUD), can significantly reduce the risk of death after an opioid overdose. Despite the many benefits, medication for OUD (MOUD) remains controversial and underutilized. The aim of this study was to (a) identify studies that explicate the lived experience of MOUD, (b) conduct a methodologically sound critical quality assessment, (c) conduct a metasynthesis of identified qualitative studies, and (d) analyze the results through the lenses of critical social justice, feminist standpoint, and social theories to inform a more culturally responsive, effective, and holistic approach to treatment to increase the utilization of and receptivity to MOUD in the treatment of OUDs.

[Transcutaneous electrostimulation of the primary elements of the visual system in children after the extraction of a congenital cataract].

Courses of transcutaneous electrostimulation of the visual analyzer periphery according to E. B. Kompaneets were administered to 31 children (56 eyes) aged 4 to 12 because of low vision acuity after congenital cataract extraction.

[Prognostic significance of visual evoked potentials in opacities of the optic media of the eye].

Visual evoked potentials have been recorded in 95 patients with cataracts (60 with senile cataracts and 35 with traumatic ones). Results of the investigation of the oxyhaemoglobin content in the blood of the anterior ciliary veins in 23 patients with primary glaucoma and in 4 patients with senile cataract are presented. An extremely high content of oxyhaemoglobin in the anterior ciliary veins was revealed in all patients irrespective of the level of the intraocular pressure and the stage of the disease.

In 20 rabbits the effect of, gas exchange, between the aqueous humor and surrounding air through the cornea, on the acid-base balance in the aqueous was investigated. It was found that tight eye closure leads to a decrease of oxygen partial pressure in the aqueous humor. A concurrent displacement of the acid-base balance in the form of a mixed acidosis (respiratory and metabolic acidosis) was demonstrated.
