Heavy metals are widely distributed in the environment and some of them occur in food, water, air and tissues even in the absence of occupational exposure. Among of these lead, (Pb) is a hazardous substance to human and animals. The present study was carried out to investigate the possible protective effect of co-administered Nigella sativa seeds on lead acetate-induced rats' toxicity in particularly on liver and kidney.

- - The study examined how melatonin could protect male rats from liver and kidney damage caused by lead exposure, using three groups: control, lead-treated, and lead plus melatonin for 30 days.
- - Results showed that lead treatment increased harmful lipid peroxidation and decreased important antioxidant levels and indicators of cellular health, leading to severe organ damage.
- - Co-treatment with melatonin significantly reduced these harmful effects and restored the health of the liver and kidneys, suggesting that melatonin might be beneficial in reducing lead-induced oxidative damage.
