Background And Objective: Direct-acting antivirals have greatly simplified the treatment of hepatitis C virus (HCV), yet circuits that bring diagnosis and treatment closer to people who inject drugs (PWID) are needed to achieve the elimination targets of the WHO. With this purpose we have established an externalized nurse-driven circuit among former and active PWID in an addiction centre (AC) and a harm reduction centre (HRC).
Methods And Settings: The nursing staff offered HCV screening, diagnosis and treatment to the AC and HRC users, administered medication after the hepatologist's remote prescription to those with an active infection who accepted being treated, and implemented educational and harm reduction interventions.
Counseling on physical activity (PA) to promote a child's overall growth, development, and wellness is a routine part of a well child visit. Given less than a quarter of children in the United States ages 6 to 17 years get 60 minutes of PA daily, there is increased focus on the built environment, that is, neighborhood level supports and barriers to PA and risk for obesity. Broad-based consideration of the built environment's contribution to childhood obesity can inform public health prevention strategies at the individual, family, community, and societal levels that promote children's health, especially in high-risk communities.

Background: This study examines whether creatine supplementation combined with strength training mitigates muscle mass loss in women during early rehabilitation post-bariatric surgery, as its effectiveness remains untested in this context.
Methods: Fifteen women (37.8 ± 9.
Plastic pollution has become a global challenge, affecting water quality and health. Plastics including polystyrene (PS), polyvinyl chloride (PVC), polypropylene (PP), polyethylene terephthalate (PET), and high-density polyethylene (HDPE), are significant contributors to environmental pollution. With the growing need for investigation and detection of plastics found in natural waters, we propose the use of a portable laser diode (LD)-based fluorescence lidar system for in-situ detection of plastic litters in surface waters based on excitation-emission fluorescence spectroscopic data.

Treatment of children with upper-extremity trauma, congenital hand differences, cerebral palsy, and brachial plexus birth injuries requires specialized training, given the spectrum of pathology and complexities of treating an individual who is still developing. Although a limited number of dedicated pediatric hand surgery fellowships are available, mastering the large breadth of the field should ideally begin early in training and may take several different pathways. The authors seek to provide a comprehensive list of resources for trainees interested in pediatric hand surgery, including training opportunities, educational tools, and networking organizations.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFAmmonia synthesis the catalytic Haber-Bosch process is characterized by its high pressures and low single-pass conversions, as well as by the energy-intensive production of the precursors H and N and their concomitant greenhouse gas emissions. Alternatively, thermochemical cycles based on metal nitrides stand as a promising pathway to green ammonia production because they can be conducted at moderate pressures without added catalysts and be further driven by concentrated solar energy as the source of high-temperature process heat. The ideal two-step cycle consists of the nitridation of a metal to form a metal nitride, followed by the hydrogenation of the metal nitride to synthetize NH and reform the metal.

This study evaluated the impact of the Distintivo Soludable pilot intervention on implementation of photoprotection policies and practices in preschool and primary schools in Andalusia, Spain. We completed two rounds of a Sun Protection Policies and Practices Survey (SPPPS) nine months apart.

Compression is the most important consideration and the gold standard treatment for venous leg ulcers. This implementation project aimed to promote best practices in the management of venous leg ulcers in a rural community-care setting.

At diagnosis, most of them are macroadenomas, and up to 56% display cavernous sinus invasion. Biomarker assessment associated with tumor growth and invasion is important to optimize their management.

Objective: To evaluate the emission power and its potential biological effects on the skin of 2 types of UV LED and fluorescent curing lamps under normal use conditions compared to doses of sunlight exposure.
Background And Aims: Malnutrition in lung transplantation (LT) candidates increases postoperative morbidity and mortality. Early diagnosis of malnutrition could attenuate adverse prognostic factors. This study aimed to assess the prevalence of nutritional risk and malnutrition using GLIM criteria in LT candidates and clinically characterize those with malnutrition.

Methods: Sixty-one recommendation statements were selected and discussed by 15 breast cancer experts from Latin America (LA). After the discussion, the level of consensus was determined through a vote.
Importance: While effective, cardiovascular rehabilitation (CR) as traditionally delivered is not well implemented in lower-resource settings.
Objective: To test the noninferiority of hybrid CR compared with traditional CR in terms of cardiovascular events.
Design, Setting, And Participants: This pragmatic, multicenter, parallel arm, open-label randomized clinical trial (the Hybrid Cardiac Rehabilitation Trial [HYCARET]) with blinded outcome assessment was conducted at 6 referral centers in Chile.

One of the industrialized cities in the Philippines is Meycauayan, Bulacan. This study reports the elemental distribution and source apportionment in eight varying land cover-land use type sampling points located along the Marilao-Meycauayan- Obando Rivers System. Elemental analysis was conducted using a scanning electron microscope coupled with energy dispersive x-ray.

Its loss results in acquired resistance to immune checkpoint blockade (ICB) therapies. However, there have been well-documented cases of B2M-inactivated tumors responding to ICB, justifying investigation of how an antitumor immune response can be generated to tumors without surface MHC class I.

Background: To analyze whether the application of topical formulas as cosmetics or sunscreens could affect the skin thermographic readings in terms of infection control in pandemic situations.
Methods: The temperature of the skin of the dorsal region of the back and the face of 20 volunteers was followed after the application of 6 different types of gels, sunscreens, and make-up under controlled temperature and humidity conditions. High-resolution thermographic images were analyzed to calculate the temperature of treated skin compared to skin free of topical products.

Objective: Hyperintensity signal in T2-weighted magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) has been related to better therapeutic response during pasireotide treatment in acromegaly. The aim of the study was to evaluate T2 MRI signal intensity and its relation with pasireotide therapeutic effectiveness in real-life clinical practice.
Design, Patients And Measurements: Retrospective multicentre study including acromegaly patients treated with pasireotide.
Disseminated coccidioidomycosis is a rare cause of flexor tendon tenosynovitis, particularly in the pediatric population. We present the case of a 2-month-old male infant with disseminated coccidioidomycosis of the right index finger, which was initially treated with debridement and long-term antifungal therapy. Six months after discontinuing antifungal medications and at the age of 2 years, the patient presented with relapse of coccidioidomycosis of his right index finger.
