Mainly performed within a rapid diagnostic tests company, a lateral flow (LF) system using gold nanoparticles (AuNPs) as transducers is presented able to detect three bacteria of interest, of relevance for antimicrobial resistance (AMR): Clostridioides difficile, methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA), and Klebsiella pneumoniae, with a limit of detection of 25 ng/mL of glutamate dehydrogenase (GDH) for C. difficile, 36 ng/mL of penicillin-binding protein 2a (PBP2a) for MRSA, and 4 × 10 CFU/mL for K. pneumoniae.

A fundamental assumption of the classical theories of crystal nucleation is that the individual molecules from the "old" phase associate to an emerging nucleus individually and sequentially. The goal of this study is to better understand the role of social relationships and traditional gender norms in Latina health. Utilizing Hawkley and Cacioppo's theoretical model of loneliness and health as a framework, loneliness is proposed as a key component in the relationship between the Latina gender norm of marianismo and health. Participants were 178 female adults who identified as Latina ( 97) or non-Latina White ( = 81), ranging in age from 19-88, who completed measures of loneliness, marianismo, depression, overall health, and health practices.

The objective of this study was to identify predictors of intention to be vaccinated against Monkeypox (Mpox) in a sample of Peruvian citizens.  METHODS: A set of sociodemographic and psychological predictors were used, such as sex, sexual orientation, educational level, previous diagnosis of COVID-19, marital status, complete vaccination against COVID-19, employment status, living with vulnerable people, presence of chronic disease, area of residence, perceived usefulness of COVID-19 vaccines, fear of Mpox, conspiracy beliefs about Mpox, among others. A total of 472 Peruvian adults participated, selected by non-probabilistic snowball convenience sampling.
