Contribution of Temperament and Family Functioning on Psychological Well-Being in Spanish Emergent Adults: A Person-Centered Approach.

There is a gap in the literature on relationships between temperament, family functioning, and psychological well-being from a eudamonic perspective in emerging adulthood. To shed light on this issue, the aim of our study was to analyze the effect of temperament and family functioning profiles on psychological well-being in a sample of Spanish university students ( = 332). Results showed a positive association between the resilient temperament profile and psychological well-being, while the inverse relationship was observed for the non-desirable temperament profile.

Potentiometric Electronic Tongue for Quantitative Ion Analysis in Natural Mineral Waters.

The present paper addresses the development and use of a new potentiometric electronic tongue for both qualitative and quantitative characterization of natural mineral waters. The electronic tongue is particularly related to the conductivity and ion content of/in the water sample. Design and optimization of a semi-industrial cavitation device for a pretreatment of an anaerobic digestion treatment of excess sludge and pig slurry.

The use of hydrodynamic cavitation (HC) as a wastewater treatment and anaerobic digestion pretreatment is a well-known process. However, most of the experiments have been done at laboratory scale and using a low concentration of total solids in the sludge treated. In this study, the waste-activated sludge has been mixed with pig slurry with the aim of treating two wastes rich in nutrients and organic matter.

Relation Between Temperament and School Adjustment in Spanish Children: A Person-Centered Approach.

The aim of this study was to examine from a person-centered approach the impact of temperament on academic achievement and sociometric status in a sample of 6-7-year-old Spanish children. To measure children's temperament in early childhood, parents were given TMCQ (Temperament in Middle Childhood Questionnaire), while sociometric status and academic achievement were requested for children's teachers. Using latent profile analysis (LPA) four temperament profiles were found.

Emergence of co-infection of visceral leishmaniasis in HIV-positive patients in northeast Iran: a preliminary study.

Visceral leishmaniasis (VL) serosurvey was carried out on 49 HIV/AIDS patients among 500 asymptomatic HIV/infected patients who registered in the Khorasan Razavi Province during the last 14 years. HIV infections were detected by ELISA and confirmed using western blot assay at the AIDS centre of the Khorasan Razavi Province. All collected sera were screened using the direct agglutination test (DAT).

A new time limited psychotherapy for BPD: preliminary results of a randomized and controlled trial.

[Long-acting injectable risperidone in treatment resistant borderline personality disorder. A small series report].

Introduction: Borderline personality disorder (BPD) is usually treated with a combination of antipsychotic and anticonvulsant drugs although only limited efficacy is obtained in many patients. A major problem in the treatment of BPD is the lack of compliance derived form the pathological impulsivity of BPD patients.

Methods: Twelve severe BPD patients refractory to previous treatment with drug combinations for three months were treated with intramuscular long-acting risperidone for a six-month period.

[Individual differences in the linguistic competence of referential and expressive subjects].

The aim of this work was to examine individual differences in referential and expressive style through a longitudinal study. The composition of the first 50 words, communicative gestures, the conversational style of dyads and the percentage of vocabulary produced from 12 to 24 month-olds were analyzed. The vocabulary was collected through interviews to parents and sessions of mother-infant interaction in the laboratory.

[Prospective survey on adverse effects of radiopharmaceuticals].

In France, radiopharmaceuticals have been considered as drugs since 1992. Few adverse reactions with radiopharmaceuticals were described in the literature. Some authors have reported a rate of 1 to 6 reactions per 100,000 injections.

[Ultrastructural, histochemical and histological study of bladder pheochromocytoma].

In the rarely occuring vesical location the pheochromocytoma shows the usual features as well from morphological (conventional and ultrastructural) as from histochemical point of view. Biochemical examinations confirm the amount of adrenalin and noradrenalin. In connection with this case the authors discuss the problems related to the histogenesis of vesical pheochromocytomas and consider the linking up of this type of tumors to the APUD system.
