Objective: To determine if short-duration peripherally inserted central catheters (PICCs) cause a hypercoagulable state in healthy dogs, based on point-of-care viscoelastic coagulation monitor (VCM).
Animals: Ten beagle dogs were randomly and equally allocated into control and PICC groups.
Procedure: Control dogs had VCM analysis on whole blood following direct venipuncture before sedation (T0) and 2 h after sedation (T2).
Telepathology, as a subset of teleconsulting, is pathology interpretation performed at a distance. Telepathology is not a new phenomenon, but since ~2015, significant advances in information technology and telecommunications coupled with the pandemic have led to unprecedented sophistication, accessibility, and use of telepathology in human and veterinary medicine. Furthermore, telepathology can connect veterinary practices to distant laboratories and provide support for underserved animals and communities.

However, there are anecdotal reports that suggest that tethered swimming can induce epistaxis, likely secondary to exercise-induced pulmonary hemorrhage (EIPH). The objective of this observational, prospective study was to investigate if EIPH occurs during intensive free-swimming training sessions (5 × 70m) using 15 endurance horses.

Chronic wounds, including leg ulcers, constitute an important medical problem among older patients. Dystrophic calcifications (DC) are associated with a variety of disorders, including leg ulcers. The aim of this study was to report the clinical and biological characteristics of older patients with DC in leg ulcers and to determine the morphology and chemical composition of these calcifications.

Hypothesis: Treatment targeting lung inflammation improves O peak in horses with mild asthma.
Background: Deep cutaneous fungal infections (DCFIs) are varied in immunosuppressed patients, with few data for such infections in solid-organ transplant recipients (s-OTRs).
Objective: To determine DCFI diagnostic characteristics and outcome with treatments in s-OTRs.
Methods: A 20-year retrospective observational study in France was conducted in 8 primary dermatology-dedicated centers for s-OTRs diagnosed with DCFIs.
Background: Psoriatic arthritis affects 20-30% of patients with psoriasis. Few epidemiological data are available in France about its prevalence and its association with skin lesions and comorbidities.
Objectives: To assess the epidemiological aspects and the risk factors for psoriatic arthritis in children and adults in France.

Background: Radiation-induced subcutaneous calcinosis is a rare and special form of potentially severe subcutaneous calcinosis of late onset. Herein, we report three cases of this disease, occurring in each instance more than 10 years after use of radiotherapy as an adjuvant treatment in breast cancer.
Patients And Methods: Our report concerns 3 women aged 69-88 years consulting for pre-sternal ulcers (n=2) and/or subcutaneous nodules (n=2).
The objective of the present study was to measure serum C-reactive protein (CRP) concentrations in 32 dogs with acute abdomen syndrome at presentation and after 48-72 hr. Data were evaluated to determine if there was an association between CRP concentration and outcome, and if CRP concentration correlated with the white blood cell (WBC) count at both time points. An immunoturbidimetric assay for human CRP, previously validated for use in dogs, was used for serum CRP analysis.
