Background: Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic began in India in 2020. Despite successful vaccination, cases again started increasing from mid-December 2021. Therefore, this study was undertaken to find out the clinico-epidemiological characteristics and effectiveness of vaccination in the household transmission of severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) in and around Pune.

The bacterial pathogen of oily spot disease, a major threat to pomegranate growers, was isolated from infected plant parts of pomegranate collected from orchards in Maharashtra, India. The pathogen was identified as Xanthomonas axonopodis pv. punicae (Xap) following phenotypic and molecular characterization by 16S rRNA gene sequencing.

Despite, societal restrictions imposed by the government in the form of lockdowns and curfews, patients still experienced trauma and required significant healthcare services for management.
Methods: Patients of either gender reporting to the emergency department of Lata Mangeshkar Hospital with maxillofacial injuries, attended by residents of OMFS from October 2019 to August 2020 were included in the retrospective study.
Context: Corona virus disease (COVID-19) has spread in a rampant manner all over the World causing severe acute respiratory illness. Prompt recognition of disease is invaluable to ensure timely treatment, and rapid patient isolation is crucial for containment of this communicable disease.
Aims: To evaluate the performance of high resolution CT (HRCT) in the diagnosis of COVID-19.

Statins exhibits a wide range of neurobehavioral effects in addition to their peripheral actions, and may be beneficial in treatment of psychiatric conditions. Present study investigated the role of agmatine and imidazoline receptors in antidepressant-like effect of statins in mouse forced swimming test (FST).

The pathogen was morphologically identified as Chaetomella raphigera followed by sequencing of ITS and D1/D2 hypervariable region of LSU (28S) of rRNA gene. The pathogen produced pectinase, cellulase, xylanase and protease in liquid medium at a concentration of 71, 13.

Unfortunately, these pathogenic bacteria do not respond to the traditional water purification methods. Therefore, there is a need of environmentally friendly strategies to overcome the problems associated with the antimicrobial resistant bacterial pathogens.

It is helpful to supplement the CT study with an oral contrast swallow as it aids in confirmation of a suspected fistula and also demonstrates the fistula tract better. We present the clinical details and the imaging findings on MDCT of two cases of esophagobronchial fistulae - one secondary to chronic chest tuberculosis and the other secondary to a squamous cell carcinoma of the upper esophagus - followed by discussion of the etiology, pathogenesis, and imaging of these fistulae.

This article reports a lytic phage against an antibiotic-resistant strain of Pseudomonas aeruginosa. Phage BVPaP-3 is a member of the Podoviridae family and morphologically similar to the T7-like phage gh-1.
