Re-Assessment of Coronoid as a Graft for Condylar Reconstruction in TMJ Ankylosis Patients: A Prospective Study and Literature Review.

Introduction: Treatment for TMJ ankylosis aims at restoring joint function, improving the patient's aesthetic appearance and quality of life and preventing re-ankylosis. To rebuild a structurally and functionally satisfactory neocondyle is a challenging problem. Aim of this study is to re-assess the coronoid as a graft for condyle reconstruction.

Use of Auricular Cartilage for Closure of Oroantral Fistula: A Prospective Clinical Study.

Introduction: The term oro-antral fistula is understood to mean of fistular canal covered with epithelia which may or may not be filled with granulation tissue or polyposis of the sinus mucous membrane. With the presence of a fistula the sinus is permanently open, which enables the passage of microbial flora of the oral cavity into the maxillary sinus and the occurrence of inflammation with all possible consequences. Every now and then various researchers have proposed innumerable techniques to treat this defect.

NHL - Extranodal T-cell lymphoma.

Extranodal NK/T-cell lymphoma, nasal type (ENKL) is a rare lymphoid neoplasm that in the past has been grouped with a variety of granulomatous diseases. ENKL occurs in all age groups. However, it seems to occur more often in people in their 50s and affects more men than women.

Ameloblastoma of the anterior mandible.

Ameloblastoma or adamantinoma is the rarest of the three forms of tumor of the odontogenic type. They are benign, locally aggressive neoplasms arising from ameloblasts, which typically occur at the angle of the mandible, and are often associated with an un-erupted tooth and must, therefore, be differentiated from a dentigerous cyst which will be centered on the crown. When in the maxilla (less common), they are located in the premolar region, and can extend up in the maxillary sinus.

Unusually large submandibular epidermoid cyst: A case report, differential diagnosis and therapy.

Epidermoid cysts are rare, slow-growing, benign, and developmental cysts that are derived from abnormally situated ectodermal tissue. Epidermoid cysts may grow anywhere on the body and about 7% of them are located in the head and neck. These cysts arise from traumatic implantation of epithelium or entrapment of epithelial remnants during embryonic fusion.

Odontogenic myxoma (OM) is a rare benign but locally aggressive tumour of the jaws. It is usually seen in the second to third decade of life. Women are more frequently affected than men and it has more predilections for the mandible rather than the maxilla.

Unilateral temporomandibular joint ankylosis with contralateral aplasia.

The temporomandibular joint (TMJ) is considered as one of the complex joints of the human body. Mandibular condylysis is distinguished from condylar aplasia by its non-association with aural/facial anomalies, and also as normal development appears to proceed until the lytic event occurs. It is further distinguished from primary and secondary condylar hypoplasia by the following: Absence of condyle rather than it being small, the normal development appears to proceed until the lytic event occurs, and its non-association with aural/facial anomalies or temporomandibular ankylosis.
