Objective: To evaluate the immunoexpression profile for CD8, CD3, CD20 and CD68 in the process and carcinogenesis of Carcinoma of the vermilion lip.
Methods: Average cell count with positive expression for CD3, CD8, CD20 and CD68. The CD8/CD3 ratio calculated in the region was based on the percentage of positive cells in a total of malignant cells.

The objective of this study was to evaluate the role of p16 in histologic characteristics and transition of Pleomorphic Adenoma (PA) to Carcinoma ex-PA (CxPA). So, 60 PA and 4 CxPA were histologic reviewed based on microscopic characteristics proposed by Hellquist, Triantafyllou and Dulguerov (PA) and Morais, Antony and Toluie (CxPA). Immunostaining for p16 was associated in different parenchyma and stroma of both tumors and Fisher's/chi-square tests and Mann-Whitney test were performed (SPSS v20.

Objective: The objective of this systematic review was to determine whether oral and dental hygiene protocols (DHPs) reduce the incidence and severity of oral mucositis (OM) during antineoplastic treatment.
Materials And Methods: This PROSPERO-registered systematic review (CRD42021295322) was based on searches of publicly accessible databases, including PubMed, Scopus, Web of Science, LILACS, EBSCOhost, LIVIVO, Embase, and gray literature (Google Scholar, ProQuest, and Energy) until December 2021. Twenty-five articles from these searches and 14 articles retrieved from the references therein were evaluated in this systematic review and meta-analysis.
Background: Human Polyomaviruses such as MCPyV and HPyV6 are frequently found as part of healthy skin microbiota and have been associated with Merkel cell carcinoma (MCC), pruritic and dyskeratotic dermatoses, respectively. Their presence in other types of skin conditions varies greatly depending on lesion type and population.
Objective: To analyse comparatively the presence of MCPyV and HPyV6 in nonmelanoma skin cancers and healthy skin.
Background: This study evaluated the effects of infrared light laser therapy (ILLT) on ligature-induced periodontitis in rats using micro-computed tomography (micro-CT), histology, fibroblast migration, and viability analysis.
Methods: Forty-eight rats were randomly distributed into three groups: control (no periodontitis), PDC (periodontitis without laser therapy), and PD+L (periodontitis with laser therapy). Periodontitis was induced by ligature placement for 4 weeks.
Statement Of Problem: Biofilms can be retained on dental prostheses leading to the development of infections. The indiscriminate use of antifungal drugs can result in the development of microorganisms that are resistant to these antimicrobial agents. Whether probiotics are a suitable alternative for reducing the prevalence of oral candidiasis is unclear.

Software Product Line (SPL) employs the concept of reuse considering that it is defined as a set of systems that are developed from a common set of base artifacts. In some contexts, such as in bioinformatics applications, it is advantageous to develop a collection of related software products, using SPL approach.

The aim of this study is to analyze the relationships between obesity, fat distribution and pharyngeal transversal area in women. Cross-sectional areas of the pharynx at the oro-pharyngeal junction and at the glottis and mean pharyngeal area were measured by acoustic pharyngometry in 145 women (age 42.9 +/- 15.

The effect of weight loss on the size of the upper airways of obese subjects is still unknown. We analyzed the pharyngeal cross-sectional area before and after weight loss in morbidly obese patients with OSAS.

Objective: To evaluate donor graft function, intraoperative blood consumption, and oxygenation and hemodynamic stability in patients undergoing lung transplantation.
Design: Prospective pilot study.
Setting: University hospital.
Unlabelled: In this study, during lung transplantation, we analyzed a conventional preload index, the pulmonary artery occlusion pressure (PAOP), and a new preload index, the intrathoracic blood volume index (ITBVI), derived from the single-indicator transpulmonary dilution technique (PiCCO System), with respect to stroke volume index (SVIpa). We also evaluated the relationships between changes (Delta) in ITBVI and PAOP and DeltaSVIpa during lung transplantation. The reproducibility and precision of all cardiac index measurements obtained with the transpulmonary single-indicator dilution technique (CIart) and with the pulmonary artery thermodilution technique (CIpa) were also determined.
