Objective: To stablish a middle range theory for the understanding of the causal mechanisms and clinical consequentes of the nursing diagnosis Excess Fluid Volume (00026) among pregnant women.
Method: The Middle Range Theory was constructed in five stages: defining of construction approach, establishing main concepts, elaborating propositions, developing a pictorial diagram, and establishing the causal relationships and evidence for practice of the Middle Range Theory.
Results: We identified 14 clinical indicators and 6 causal factors of Excess Fluid Volume.
Purpose: The aim of this study was to perform a clinical validation of the defining characteristics of impaired memory (IM) in elderly patients at a long-term care institution.
Methods: A sample of 123 elderly patients was evaluated with a questionnaire designed to identify IM according to the NANDA-I taxonomy. Accuracy measures were calculated for the total sample and for males and females separately.

Objective: To describe the construction and evaluation of new educational software called Wise Nurse, which was developed to increase the capacity of student nurses to identify nursing diagnoses (NDx) and to establish relationships between NDx, defining characteristics (DC), and related factors (RF).
