Mesenteric venous thrombosis in a pregnant woman at first trimester gestation: a case report.

Mesenteric vein thrombosis (MVT) in a pregnant patient is a rare condition that seems to be associated with the pregnancy pró-thrombotic state. This can lead to severe circumstances such as intestinal hemorrhagic ischemia, sepsis, abortion and death. Abdominal assessment is challenging due to the anatomical and physiological changes during pregnancy.

Pneumatosis cystoides intestinalis with pneumoperitoneum in an 87-years-old male patient: a case report.

Pneumatosis cystoides intestinalis (PCI) is a rare condition, characterized by gas-filled cysts in the intestinal wall. The mesentery and intra-abdominal ligaments can be affected. PCI is classified as primary or secondary and associated with multiple predisposing factors.

Pulmonary infections after bone marrow transplantation: high-resolution CT findings in 111 patients.

Objective: The purpose of this study was to review the high-resolution CT findings in patients with pulmonary infection after bone marrow transplantation and to determine distinguishing features among the various types of infection.

Materials And Methods: This study included 111 consecutive bone marrow transplant recipients who had documented pulmonary infection, high-resolution CT of the chest performed within 24 hr of the beginning of symptoms, and proven diagnosis within 1 week of the onset of symptoms. Two radiologists analyzed the CT scans and reached final decisions regarding the findings by consensus.

[Influenza B virus pneumonia after bone marrow transplantation: case report with emphasis to the high resolution computed tomography findings].

Nine year-old male patient, who underwent bone marrow transplantation because of acute myelogenous leukemia, presented with fever and dry cough three days after the procedure. The chest radiograph demonstrated bilateral diffuse reticular infiltrate. The high resolution computed tomography showed peribronchovascular interstitial thickening, peripheral small centrilobular nodules and areas of ground-glass attenuation.

[High resolution computed tomography findings in parainfluenza virus pneumonia after bone marrow transplantation: case report].

Nineteen year-old female patient, who underwent bone marrow transplantation because of chronic myelogenous leukemia, presented with dry cough and coriza sixty-seven days after the procedure. The chest radiograph was normal. The high resolution computed tomography showed a subsegmental air-space consolidation at the periphery of the left inferior lobe and areas of low attenuation at the superior and middle lung zones.
