Article Synopsis
  • Melanoma, mainly caused by UV radiation from the sun, can be prevented using sunscreens, but synthetic options can harm the environment.
  • This study highlights the potential of essential oils (EO) derived from plants for their natural photoprotective and anti-cancer properties, presenting a more eco-friendly alternative.
  • Results showed that nanoemulsified essential oil (NE-EO) was effective in providing photoprotection and had higher cytotoxic effects on melanoma cells compared to non-cancerous cells, indicating its promise for melanoma prevention and treatment, although more research is needed.

Effects of the incorporation of Cr, Ni, Co, Ag, Al, Ni and Pt cations in titanate nanotubes (NTs) were examined on the NO conversion. The structural and morphological characterizations evidenced that the ion-exchange reaction of Cr, Co, Ni and Al ions with the NTs produced catalysts with metals included in the interlayer regions of the trititanate NTs whereas an assembly of Ag and Pt nanoparticles were either on the nanotubes surface or inner diameters through an impregnation process. Understanding the role of the different metal cations intercalated or supported on the nanotubes, the optimal selective catalytic reduction of NO by CO reaction (SCR) conditions was investigated by carrying out variations in the reaction temperature, SO and HO poisoning and long-term stability runs.

Unlabelled: Dementia is a public health issue making the screening and diagnosing of dementia and its prodromal phases in all health settings imperative.

Objective: using PRISMA, this systematic review aimed to identify how low-, middle-, and high-income countries establish dementia and cognitive dysfunction diagnoses in primary health care.

Methods: studies from the past five years in English, Spanish, and Portuguese were retrieved from Scopus, PubMed, Embase, Lilacs, Scielo, and Web of Science.

Receptors for the Fc region of IgG (FcgammaRIIIa, FcgammaRIIc) and IgM (FcmicroR) were previously described on NK cells. In this work the expression of Fc receptors for IgA (FcalphaR) on human NK cells and the signaling events were investigated. The FcalphaR was demonstrated by flow cytometry using secretory IgA (sIgA) and anti-human IgA antibody.
