Secondary breast lymphoma: A case report.

Lymphoma is the most frequent hematologic malignancy that involves the breast. It represents less than 1% of all breast cancer. The most common subtype is the secondary B-cell lymphoma.

Metastases to pancreas diagnosed by endoscopic ultrasound-guided fine-needle aspiration: A case series and review of imaging and cytologic features.

Fine-needle aspiration (FNA) is ideal for the diagnosis of pancreatic neoplasms with high precision. We described five cases of metastases to the pancreas, highlighting the importance of clinical data, imaging features and the use of immunocytochemistry to lead the diagnosis. We retrospectively searched our archives for metastatic neoplasm to the pancreas diagnosed with FNA performed with endoscopic ultrasound, over a 5-year period.

Contributions of global and local processing on medical image perception.

Purpose: The influential holistic processing hypothesis attributes expertise in medical image perception to cognitive processing of global gist information. However, it has remained unclear whether or how experts use rapid global impression of images for their subsequent diagnostic decisions based on the focal sign of cancer. We hypothesized that continuous-global and discrete-local processes jointly attribute to radiological experts' detection of mammogram, with different weights and temporal dynamics.

Implications of an inpatient warfarin dosing nomogram on safety outcomes post-discharge.

Many hospitals have implemented warfarin dosing nomograms to improve patient safety. To our knowledge, no study has assessed the impact inpatient warfarin initiation has in both medical and surgical patients, on safety outcomes post discharge. To evaluate the impact of a suggested institutional nomogram for the initiation of warfarin, the primary endpoint was the incidence of bleeding throughout follow up.
