A survey of Diaporthe/Phomopsis Complex (DPC) species was carried out on 479 asymptomatic soybean (Glycine max (L.) Merrill) seed samples collected from commercial soybean fields in the states of Santa Catarina (20 counties) and Rio Grande do Sul (41 counties), in the 2020/21 (n=186), 2021/22 (n=138) and 2022/23 (n=155) seasons from 120 cultivars. The seeds were provided by seed producers who collected according to the sampling standard of the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Food Supply.

Proinflammatory cytokines inhibit the pineal synthesis of melatonin while inducing it in macrophages by mechanisms dependent on nuclear factor-κB (NF-κB) activation. Cytokines activating the Janus kinase/signal transducer and activator of transcription (STAT) pathways, such as interferon-gamma (IFN-γ) and interleukin-10 (IL-10), modulate melatonin synthesis in the pineal, bone marrow (BM), and spleen.

This exploratory study investigated the effects of early . delayed time-restricted eating (TRE) plus caloric restriction (CR) on body weight, body composition and cardiometabolic parameters in adults with overweight and obesity. Adults (20-40 years) were randomised to one of three groups for 8 weeks: early time-restricted eating (eTRE; 08.

Background: Reduced glutathione (GSH) is one of the main thiols involved in antioxidant defense. Changes in circulatory levels of GSH during exercise are associated with hyperthermia and dehydration. The mechanisms by which these alterations occur are not entirely known.

However, it is not clear what are the physiological characteristics of the dance classes for young people, mainly regarding the levels of moderate to vigorous physical activity (MVPA) during classes. It is also unclear if regular engagement in dance practices can contribute with increases in the amounts of daily/weekly MVPA, recommended by health organizations.

Differences were compared using the rate of change in glycaemia during exercise (RoC). HIIT sessions led to lower RoC in most weeks than other training protocols.

Introduction: Aging is characterized by reductions in lean mass simultaneously to increases in visceral adipose tissue, elevating cardiovascular risk (CVR) and physical dependence. Dancing has been recommended for improving fall-risk and CVR, however, comparisons with traditional exercises are limited. This study aimed to compare the effects of dancing with walking on CVR and functionality of older women.

This study investigated the influence of performing strength exercises before or after high-intensity interval exercise on glycaemia during and postexercise in T1DM patients. Nine physically active adults with T1DM executed 30 min of strength exercises (SE) (3 sets at 10 RM) before 30 min of high-intensity interval exercise (HIIE) (10 × 60-s bout at ∼90% HR interspersed with 60 s recovery) (SE + HIIE) or performed the reverse order (HIIE + SE) or rested in this period. Capillary glucose levels were measured each 15 min during and 60 min postexercise recovery.

Objective: To describe cardiorespiratory responses of a dance session for older women, and to identify intensity zones in relation to peak oxygen consumption (VOpeak), first and second ventilatory thresholds (VT1 and VT2).
Lophanthera lactescens is a medicinal plant commonly used in traditional medicine to relieve fever and pain in inflammatory processes. In the present study, the in vivo antinociceptive and anti-inflammatory effects of the methanolic extract from L. lactescens have been investigated.

The essential oil obtained from these leaves is rich in citral, a mixture of neral and geranial isomers, known for its analgesic effect. Male Swiss mice (20-22 g) were tested in models of acute pain (acetic acid-induced abdominal writhing, tail flick, and formalin tests) and acute inflammation (paw oedema and air pouch tests) as well as in a model for evaluation of spontaneous motor performance (open-field test).

The acetic acid-induced writhing method is able to determine that all investigated new hybrids showed stronger antinociceptive properties (2- to 10-fold less ED50 values) than their precursors.
