This report outlines the evolution and recent progress about the different protocols to synthesize the N-heterocycles fused hybrids, specifically [1,2,3]triazolo[1,5-a]quinoline. This review encompasses a broad range of approaches, describing several reactions for obtaining this since, such as dehydrogenative cyclization, oxidative N-N coupling, Dieckmann condensation, intramolecular Heck, (3+2)-cycloaddition, Ullman-type coupling and direct intramolecular arylation reactions. We divided this review in three section based in the starting materials to synthesize the target [1,2,3]triazolo[1,5-a]quinolines.

We present our results on the synthesis and preliminary in silico and in vitro studies of the toxicology and antioxidant properties of selenylated analogs of Tacrine. Initially, we synthesized 2-aminobenzonitriles containing an organic selenium moiety, resulting in sixteen compounds with various substituents linked to the portion derived from diorganyl diselenide. These compounds were then used as substrates in reactions with cyclic ketones, in the presence of 1.

Article Synopsis
  • Organoselenium compounds are gaining importance in synthetic chemistry due to their roles as both electrophiles and nucleophiles, as well as their effectiveness as catalysts.
  • These catalysts offer benefits such as high efficiency, mild conditions, strong functional compatibility, and great selectivity, often paired with inorganic and organic oxidants to regenerate active catalytic species.
  • The review covers five years of research on diorganyl diselenide as a selenium-based catalyst, organized into four key sections: cyclisation reactions, addition and oxidative functionalisation, oxidation and reduction reactions, and reactions involving phosphorus-containing materials.

This study investigated whether subacute treatment with 7-chloro-4-(phenylselanyl) quinoline (4-PSQ) presented antioxidant action in oxidative stress associated with aging in different rat tissues. We also investigated whether plasma selenium levels were altered by aging, as well as the contribution of 4-PSQ administration to these levels. Aged Wistar male rats (23month old) were intragastrically treated with 4-PSQ (5mg/kg) for seven days.

A simple method for the direct mono- and bis-organylselenylation of N-substituted pyrroles through a multicomponent reaction promoted by ultrasonic radiation was described. These sonochemical promoted reactions were performed between different primary amines, 2,5-hexanedione and dialkyl, diheteroaryl, or diaryl diselenides, using catalytic amounts of copper iodide. Depending on the amount of copper iodide and diorganyl diselenide used in the reactions, mono- or bis-organylselenylation products were efficiently synthesized in high yields.
