Background: The effect of bariatric surgery (BS) on twin pregnancy outcomes is unclear.

Objectives: We examined associations of BS with maternal and perinatal outcomes among women with twin gestation.

Setting: A university hospital.

While surgical management is the treatment of choice for abnormally invasive placenta, the role of supracervical hysterectomy in this setting is not well established. We aimed to compare supracervical versus total cesarean hysterectomy as a surgical option for abnormally invasive placenta. We carried out an 8-year retrospective case-control study.

Background: Matrix metalloproteinases (Mmps) and their tissue inhibitors (Timps) are widely recognized as crucial factors for extracellular matrix remodeling in the ovary and are involved in follicular growth, ovulation, luteinization, and luteolysis during the estrous cycle. Recently, several genes have been associated to the modulation of Mmps activity, including Basigin (Bsg), which induces the expression of Mmps in rat ovaries; Sparc, a TGF-β modulator that is related to increased expression of Mmps in cancer; and Reck, which is associated with Mmps inhibition. However, the expression pattern of Mmp modulators in ovary dynamics is still largely uncharacterized.

Background: The optimal timing of pregnancy after bariatric surgery has not been established, with data limited regarding laparoscopic sleeve gastrectomy (LSG), currently the most common bariatric operation performed.

Objectives: We explored associations of the surgery-to-conception interval with pregnancy outcomes after LSG.

Setting: A university hospital.

Pituitary disorders, and especially prolactinomas, are not common among pregnant women, though they tend to occur during a woman's years of fertility. The majority of prolactinoma patients present with infertility and menstruation dysfunction; however, prolactinomas are associated with potentially significant morbidity if they remain unrecognized and untreated. Herein, we survey the role of prolactin and prolactinomas in pregnancy while also outlining the therapeutic approach to prolactinoma during pregnancy.

Objective: Gestational thrombocytopenia (GT) accounts for 75% of cases of thrombocytopenia in pregnancy. In most cases of GT, thrombocytopenia is mild (100-150 × 10/L) and has no consequences for either the mother or the fetus. We aimed to investigate the characteristics, neonatal risk and recurrence rate of GT with a platelet count <100 × 10/L.

Objective: Numerous studies have evaluated the factors associated with ECV success. Yet, bladder volume has never been examined. We hypothesize that maternal bladder volume may affect ECV success rate.

Synopsis of recent research by authors named "Gabriel Levin"

  • - Gabriel Levin's recent research focuses on the assessment and improvement of surgical outcomes in gynecologic oncology, utilizing large databases like the National Surgical Quality Improvement Program (NSQIP) to identify risk factors and complications associated with various surgical procedures.
  • - His studies include comparative analyses of minimally invasive surgical techniques for hysterectomies related to uterine fibroids and endometriosis, revealing significant differences in short-term postoperative outcomes based on technique and surgical specialty.
  • - Levin's work also explores the prognostic value of biomarkers in ovarian cancer and evaluates the effectiveness of treatment regimens for rare uterine cancers, contributing to a deeper understanding of patient care and therapeutic strategies in gynecologic malignancies.
