Graywater treatment of emerging pollutant linear alkylbenzene sulfonate by adsorption with leather shave waste activated carbon.

The purpose of this research is to evaluate the use of leather shave waste activated carbon (ACLW) as an alternative for the treatment of wastewater containing linear alkylbenzene sulfonate (LAS). Batch adsorption tests were carried out (pH effect, isotherms, kinetics). The activated carbon was tested for its life cycle by desorption with solvent and it was further evaluated as real wastewater treatment for bath graywater.
