Introduction: Corticotropin releasing hormone (CRH)-stimulated bilateral inferior petrosal sinus sampling (BIPSS) is the most accurate procedure in the differential diagnosis of adrenocorticotropic hormone (ACTH)-dependent Cushing's syndrome (CS) with a sensitivity of 88-100% and a specificity of 67-100%. Background Due to its affordability and ease of application, the subarachnoid block is the most frequently used method for lower abdominal procedures. Levobupivacaine has an onset of sensory and motor blockade comparable to that of bupivacaine and prolongs the duration of analgesia while facilitating quick recovery from motor block. The global pandemic caused by COVID-19 led to numerous novel cases of autoimmune and rheumatologic disorders that developed postinfection. Along these lines, these authors report an unusual case of scleredema following SARS-CoV-2 infection in an individual who lacked any known risk factors. Sickle cell disease (SCD) is a mono-genic disorder causing chronic hemolysis, anemia, and vaso-occlusion, leading to musculoskeletal complications such as osteonecrosis, osteoporosis, and bone fractures affecting 50-70% SCD patients. These complications result from a complex interplay of genetic and physiological factors, including abnormal hemoglobin production, chronic inflammation, and oxidative stress. This review discusses the pathophysiology, pre-clinical symptoms, and clinical manifestations of musculoskeletal complications in SCD, as well as current treatment options, including pharmacological interventions, surgical procedures, and bone marrow transplantation.

Plant growth-promoting rhizobacterium Sp7 utilizes fructose efficiently via a fructose phosphotransferase system (Fru-PTS). Its genome encodes two putative Fru-PTS, each consisting of FruB (EIIA), FruK (Pfk), and FruA (EIIBC) proteins.
