Adipose tissue, particularly white adipose tissue (WAT), plays a central role in energy storage and metabolic regulation. Excess WAT, especially visceral fat, is strongly linked to metabolic disorders such as obesity and type 2 diabetes. The browning of WAT, whereby white fat cells acquire characteristics of brown adipose tissue (BAT) with enhanced thermogenic capacity, represents a promising strategy to enhance metabolic health.

Methods: A total of 36 clinical isolates were morphologically identified, and clinical and demographic data were collected.
Objectives: To compare the prevalence of training-related ECG findings in white, mixed-race, and black male Brazilian soccer players.
Design: Multicenter observational study.
Methods: This study involved athletes aged 15 to 35 years from 82 professional clubs across Brazil's five regions.
Tricuspid regurgitation (TR) poses a significant healthcare burden and is a major concern for patients who experience debilitating symptoms and face a poorer prognosis. Cardiologists are showing renewed interest in TR, as the previous belief that it was merely a bystander of left-sided heart disease has evolved. As a result, more transcatheter techniques addressing TR are emerging.

Background: Extracellular vesicles (EVs) are a group of nanoscale cell-derived membranous structures secreted by all cell types, containing molecular cargoes involved in intercellular communication. EVs can be used to mimic "nature's delivery system" to transport nucleic acids, peptides, lipids, and metabolites to target recipient cells. EVs offer a range of advantages over traditional synthetic carriers, thus paving the way for innovative drug delivery approaches that can be used in different diseases, including cancer.

We aimed at combining and analyzing the results of minimally invasive Pauli repair by assessing the available evidence.
Methods: A literature search in Pubmed, Embase, and Web of Science was undertaken to include all articles reporting on minimally invasive repair of parastomal hernias using the Pauli technique.
Mitophagy is the intracellular recycling system that disposes damaged/inefficient mitochondria and allows biogenesis of new organelles to ensure mitochondrial quality is optimized. Dysfunctional mitophagy has been implicated in human aging and diseases. Multiple evolutionarily selected, redundant mechanisms of mitophagy have been identified, but their specific roles in human health and their potential exploitation as therapeutic targets are unclear.

This condition can affect patients of all ages but is more common between 20 and 40 years of age, especially in females and individuals with periodontal disease. The study aimed to evaluate and compare the efficacy over time of a product for at-home treatment of dentin hypersensitivity.

The objective of this epidemiological investigation was to evaluate parents' knowledge and awareness of children's nutrition starting from the early stages of childhood. : A questionnaire with 35 questions was handed over to 120 parents of infants aged 4 to 24 months.

This study evaluates the efficacy of a nutraceutical formulation based on maltodextrinated grape pomace extract (MaGPE), an oxidative stress inhibitor, in managing DR. A 6-month, randomized, placebo-controlled clinical trial involving 99 patients with mild to moderate non-proliferative DR was conducted.

Aim of the study is to evaluate clinical characteristics and long-term outcome of TTS patients on Renin Angiotensin system inhibitors (RASi).
Methods: TTS patients were enrolled in the international multicenter GEIST (GErman Italian Spanish Takotsubo) registry.
L. is recognized for its adaptogenic properties and ability to promote muscle health, function and recovery from exercise. The plethora of biological effects of this plant is ascribed to the synergism existing among the molecules composing its phytocomplex.

The standard therapies (FOLFIRINOX and gemcitabine with nab-paclitaxel) are not resolutive because this type of cancer is also characterized by a high chemoresistance, due in part to the activity of the ATP Binding Cassette (ABC) pumps accounting for the reduction in the intracellular concentration of the drugs. In this work, we analyze the occurrence of single-nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) in the MDR-1 gene, in different pancreatic cancer cell lines, and in tissues from pancreatic cancer patients by DNA sequencing, as well as the expression levels of MDR-1 mRNA and protein, by qRT-PCR and Western Blot analysis.

The aim of this article is to describe our surgical technique and the usefulness of intraoperative ultrasonography (IOUS) for evaluating the DRM during robotic rectal surgery (RRS).
Method: Prospective data on five consecutive patients with rectal cancer who underwent RRS between January 2023 and December 2023 were collected.
